Sometimes you have to. The best jobs I’ve had were the ones where they paid attention to your worth and advanced you without asking. It’s rare.

like

Nope. Fight for your worth. Every year they don't find me what I'm asking the gap gets bigger.

Any opportunity that makes sense is a good one.

I need some advice- how do I ask for a pay raise? I recently joined Deloitte (Toronto) as a consultant 5 months ago and I make 65k. Initially I thought this would be great but I’m struggling to keep up with my expenses (I live by myself, international student trying to support my little brother through school as well) I feel like I very recently joined & I haven’t done much notable work. I’m afraid to ask!

Current employer offers 21% raise and 30% coding duties. Dept head cannot give it in writing... coding is as helper to a consultant. Wut do?

I just had my first annual performance review meeting with my manager this past Friday. She had nothing but good things to say about my work, effort etc. thus far. After that she indicated a raise of a little less than 3%. Is this something I can counter? Should companies be giving raises that are at least at the percentage of the inflation rate (Being ~ 6% this year)? I appreciate any feedback!

Hi All, seeking advise. I was hired at the beginning of this year just before the market blown up here in Australia. Perf wise I passed early probation and received pay raise and a promotion back to back in two months but yet I'm so under the market rates. I'm so comfortable with the team and I love what I'm doing and achieving, but financiallyI'm struggling. And what upsets me the most that the new hires are getting way I mean WAY more than me even if that was a junior role. What should I do?

I’m up for promotion this month. I will be in charging jobs this busy season. What do you all use to stay organized? As a staff I was using just a regular planner. Now I’m wondering if a project planner would be better. I use the goodnotes app for a planner currently. I’d prefer keeping it digital so I have it on my phone if I forget my iPad.

Hello People, 3 questions for ya'll: 1) Do we need to sign an employment bond, if we are offered an opportunity to go secondment/STA for few days/months with an onshore entity of the PwC Network? 2) Since secondment opportunity is offered to a select few, what does it mean for that individual in terms of growth, in terms of compensation and designation. 3) Can we negotiate and get a pay raise before signing an employment bond? Thanks in advance!

I'm currently working as a Data Scientist, at a 1T$+ M. Cap company, and transitioning to a Manager position. This would be my first management role. How do you navigate this change in terms of compensation, without having strong leverage? (eg other offers) The market average, in my area, for the two roles have quite a significant gap, how would you isolate this conversation about this raise, other than that I would be on a substantially different role? Anyone with exp with a similar transition?

I haven’t negotiated job offer before and trying to help my spouse with an offer in healthcare and would love your advice: she told them upfront her range was 75-80k and they said that was fine, and she was offered 72k. Even on Glassdoor, the average salary for her position at this company is 75k. Additionally, she has to pay her old company 5k to leave. How should she make the case for both a salary raise to 75-80k and a $5k sign on?
