Different type of cities, but certainly a great place to live. COL is a lot less, abundance of things to do.
I moved from Boston to Chicago , much cheaper , better facilities and good schools in suburbs.. houses are less costly but there is only depreciation and no appreciation as property taxes are around 3%..
If your job doesn’t mandate. Location, move to tax free states like Texas or Florida
Property taxes are high but comparable to Chicago suburbs, my Illinois house taxes are 16k for 500k while my friends ends up paying 18k for 600k houses..
Chicago burbs baby
DD1 thx. Problem is I can afford 600k + taxes in Chicago burbs. But I can’t afford 1-1.5mm + lesser taxes in Boston burbs
Apple to oranges. Chicago is more similar to other mega cities like NYC, LA, Toronto. Boston is like SF or Vancouver, relatively smaller and very high COL without the amenities of a mega city.
I must agree with you on this. I did more things in New York in 3 days than what I did here in 3 years
Move to buffalo grove Deerfield or Naperville
Adlai Stevenson and nequa valley high schools are excellent.
Niles, Morton grove, glenview, park ridge, oak park, Buffalo grove, elm hurst, glen ellyn all good neighborhoods. A lot of other good burbs too just depends on where your trying to move from and how far from the city your trying to be.
