Anyone heard of YipitData? Thinking of applying there. Curious about their product, culture, and comp. Glassdoor seems suspicious
Hey all, Been out of work for about a year now, been interviewing and actively since being laid off due to companys budget cut. Was in final / decision rounds before covid and everything has been tbd or rescinded since. Responses have been few and far in between and now the year gap is becoming a concern. Would like to ask if anyone has tips or can point me in the right direction. I come from a management consulting/prod mgt background in tech. Disregard the risk consultant title.
Creative interview. Bring resume?
Anyone had an interview with PwC FDD recently? How long did you wait after the HR call for an interview?
What advice would you give someone interviewing for a finance transformation consultant role? My experience is in tech consulting/HCM so I don’t know what to expect. Thank you!
I don’t know who to ask for references. Since law school I worked at a non profit for 2 years. Then clerked. Was at a firm two months before it closed and now at my current firm. I have one from my supervisor at the nonprofit. But I’m not sure where to get my others. I could get my judge but not sure they’d be willing/have good things to say. We didn’t have a good relationship. Is it okay to ask someone else from the nonprofit or maybe my co-clerk? It’ll be six years but someone from internship?
Did anyone from big4 recently got interviewed or offered a job at Amazon? These are two different cultures, worried that it may not be the right switch. I am SM4 and being offered L7 Principal-TPM at AMZN. Insights, please...
How to politely not move forward in job interviews? After having the first phone call interview I’m honestly not too interested but scared to burn the recruiters that are helping me.
I Got a few internship offers and right now I’m between RSM and PwC. Any thoughts on which i should chose or any information on either firms? Any input helps!
Anyone connected with agencies in Sydney? Looking for a part time or internship gig in strategy.
any funny intern stories from this busy season?
Any MBB fish that went from T2 > industry > MBB? Why did you go back into consulting? I am in a pretty good role right now but besides industry circles, I have no branding. MBB has invited me for interviews. Should I even consider? TC is about the same and I have decent hours. Worth going back for the brand, network, flexibility in/possibility of better exit opps?
For the KPMG folks- I was invited for an interview, and I'm curious what would be a good range for asking salary - just to make sure I'm not way on the high end. I have a PhD and a little over 1 yoe in consulting working for a boutique firm (not small, but not huge).
Repost - turns out my friend’s office moved and is near Hudson Yards/Penn Station. Where should she live for her summer internship? Probably won’t be going into the office too frequently (but TBD). Continued.
Been looking for feedback on your book? If you’re a student, graduate, intern, or fresh junior, I’ve got some time to look at books and give some feedback. DM me and we’ll make it happen.
Intern horror stories. Let’s hear them!
Does anyone have any insight on Facebook case interviews? I’ve been asked to think about how they use data ...thanks in advance for the help
Anyone move from CA to TX and became a teacher there? I was just wondering what CA credentials a person can transfer, if any. As of now, I have 30-day substitute permit, preliminary Adult Basic Education credential and a cleared Career Tech Ed credential. I am qualified to be an intern teacher special education teacher.
I met a guy at the airport who claimed that he missed his flight as he was very distracted by people talking to his ginger cat!WTF!!
Last min requests for proactive decks to show the client ‘we’re doing stuff’ that have to be worked on over the weekend only to be not used the following week are really getting to me. It’s a wonderful way to let employees know you don’t care about them while having mandatory meetings so the company can tell employees how much the agency cares about them.
What is the salary range for a 1st year senior in EY FSO advisory for NY and Chicago markets? Any help appreciated.
I have an interview with a "biglaw" firm tomorrow afternoon-- any last minute tips or advice from those who work in big firms? I'm a 6th year associate and have never worked at a firm with more than 5 other attorneys. The interview is going to be with a panel of "at least" three partners and the pressure is on.
Is JPMorgan Chase a restricted entity for PwC? I.e you cannot have any financial interest (mortgage) if you're an employee?
Do travel insurances like Atlas cover coronavirus ? My MIL was visiting us when this thing kicked up and her flight back is cancelled and insurance is till 31. Wondering if i should...
iPhone 7 heads (for personal and biz): did you buy out right or pay per month? If biz phone, can we pay per month and just expense each month?
New project is in Albuquerque, cool city or nah?
Is there a site that’s good for searching for mileage run flights? Where you can view only skyteam airlines, and filter by miles flown. What’s the best tool for that? Thx!
Lots of articles say it’s meaningless/less impactful to begin a convo with the typical “hey, how are you?”...What’s your take here? Let’s say you have an interview and the recruiter will call you at 9am. How do you answer the phone?
Need help with a decision and would love to hear from some experienced consultants. I have an offer to join Accenture for: - $145k salary - 5% bonus - 6% match (after vest) - 15% discounted stock purchase program At EY current -> FY21 - $100k -> $115k (est) - $5k -> $5k (est) - 1.5% match But I seriously love what I do at EY... like I think it’s very cool. I’m afraid I won’t enjoy Accenture that much and I feel I’m really making a name for myself at EY. Please help. I am coming up on 3yoe
How do you define work-life balance? And how much of that balance is reasonable to expect for someone with ~2 YOE, be that in the Big 4 or in smaller niche/boutique firms?
Hot take: Leaving big 4 consulting and joining middle market firm (A&M, GT, etc.) does not, I repeat, does not mean less hours.
Tried Facebook Rooms yesterday for a call. It was good until the sound cut out. Hangouts has terrible video quality. Zoom has a 40 minute limit for the fee version. Skype is so 2019. What’s your video conference platform of choice including Pros and cons?
So I received an offer that is +45k putting my total salary at 170 as a senior and I tried counter offering but my partner said to me that money will always be there but that I can’t buy connections and growth. I don’t understand the mindset behind this? Isn’t more money today worth more than more money tomorrow?
How do you handle when someone briefs your direct report into a new project without talking to you? Person who did it is senior to me but we have the same manager so we are sort of peers. The project makes sense for my direct report but I feel undermined and disrespected for not being consulted. Am I being too sensitive? I don’t want to seem petty but I would never bypass one of my peers like this unless something was time sensitive - even then, I’d send a courtesy note as a heads up.
Have Deloitte promo timelines gotten considerably longer recently? Have heard about: A -> C = 3 years, C -> SC = 4 years, SC -> M = 4 years. Is it the same across other B4 firms?
