Is it acceptable to ask for a quick moment (20s) before responding to an interview question?

For the most part, interviews are conversations.
Pausing for a moment to gather your thoughts is fine and many very good speakers both pause before answering and speak slowly. 20 seconds though will be awkward unless just asked a complex question where you have to come up with a plan on the fly or something like that.

like

I mean I prepared some cases but in order for them to be transferable. I have to take a moment, maybe not 20s but 10s-15

Of course.

like

If it’s during a case and at one of the obvious junctures for such a pause.

The best answer I’ve heard for this is that it is fine to ask for time, but the more time you take the better the answer/insight ought to be.

Anyone work at PwC that can help refer and potentially share some resume/application tips? There's a strategy manager position open I am interested in applying for, but I've applied for PwC many times over the years and have NEVER gotten even a first round interview. I typically have at least a decent amount of success with my resume and I have applied for a multitude of levels and positions. I've been in FinTech CS for about 6 years.

I am looking to hire a mid level associate for my team. How can I conduct an effective interview to find someone who be committed to our work? Interviews are so superficial.

I haven't interviewed in years and feel absolutely out of place and underconfident. Not able to bring my A game to the table (I can't pitch myself as ideal candidate for position).

I have very strong profile for my experience. All my performance reviews continuously state I'm going above & beyond and theres nothing they can think of suggesting I do different. Just can't interview well

Toronto banks: remote or not? They sometimes post jobs where it doesn’t say it’s remote, but no branch/ location/address either. Then you get an interview and they tell you it’s remote/hybrid(1-2-3days, take your pick)/on-site. So, if you work at TD, Scotia, RBC, could you let everybody know in the comments what’s the deal for each? Are you remote, on-site, hybrid of some sort?

Serious question: do I *need* MBB on my resume to have good exit ops from consulting? I have an M7 MBA, but struggled to land interviews because I didn’t have big brands on my resume (confirmed by recruiters). I wouldn’t be surprised if most/all F100 and FAANG hired MBB only.

Looking at exits into pharma and biotech. Have an opp at a biotech at the SM level. Total comp excluding equity is around $190k; RSUs vest over 4 years with annual refreshers, so first year equity would be around $6,200 and it would go up by $6,200 each of the next 3 years, plus whatever base bump I get. Very good benefits package.

They envision 2-3 years before I jump either to AD or right to D. Solid opp? Or hold out to go straight to director level?
