Is it worth it to get an executive mba if I’m not working in the field I want while I’m getting it?
I got a $8,000 raise for year end and promotion, and no bonus. I just got written offer from other big 4 for 40k more then I am making at Deloitte.
What do you think will be the impact of this rapid hiring for MBB? MBB is hiring so rapidly. When it cools down, do you think MBB will realize they over hired? Will it become harder for associates (post MBA) to get promoted? Will it become more competitive for Associates to get staffed on projects they want to be on? Will there just be too many consultants at the Firm and a mass layoff? McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
How is IBM Enterprise Strategy? WLB, Comp vs B4, team culture, work overall. Appreciate any insight- thanks!
S3 here. Planning to move companies as my promotion this year looks unlikely. Can i pitch myself for a manager at another big 4? I have close to 9 years of experience and a masters
I came across a post boasting about perks in big4 vs park in Witch companies, here are my input 1. I started my career with big4. Although it gave a lots of perk to keep you grounded or get you in comfort zone some major cons were A. Out dated technology stack B. No work life balance C. This big 4 always carry tapes to measure your performance. 2. I recently joined a witch company and here are my inputs A. Latest tech stakes but slow pace of work B. No long working hours (gov job)
Who has gone from a Big 4 to a mid-tier or regional firm? Or from a mid-tier/regional to a Big 4? How would you compare your experience between the two?
Working in Europe temporarily. Have an option to do Executive MBA, it’s around 70-90k Euros for an year. Another option I have is doing part time PhD in Management. It’s around 35-40k Euros for 4 years. Any thoughts on which one would be more useful? Currently work in a T2 in their digital practice. Had plans of shifting to MBB 3-4 years back but lost interest after
23 and looking to apply to MBA in ~3 years. What do I need to do to better my chances for an M7? Context: Mid-level undergrad with 3.79 GPA, top of class performer at IBM, have Negotiation Mastery and Disruptive Strategy certifications from HBS, not sure what to work on next.
How much experience do you need to be seriously considered for jobs that ask for “5 years” experience? I have 1.5 years of Big 4 experience. Do you typically include the 2-3 years of college (basic bookkeeping) level accounting jobs / internships as experience as well? (Including college part time accounting jobs gets me closer to 4-5 years experience - just not sure if that’s generally viewed as “valid” experience)
Need to recertify my AWS-SAA cert. any recommendations on best resources given the new test format (SAA-CO2)?
How does the new rule impact on amendment? Big 4 has promotion typically every year and which require amendments. Do you think this will effect current H1 holder?
Is it worth a try to transfer from Kellogg two year program to MMM program? Anyone succeeded in the transfer before? Interested in digital transformation and wanna be a consultant post-MBA. No academic background on design/engineering tho.
Hello, Looking for Senior Consultant/ Lead advisory role. Having 6+ experience in Information security. Certification in CISA, CISM and AWS CCP
Is there any B4 firm(except KPMG) that hire experienced associate in FDD? I am looking around the web and most seems to be looking for only seniors. (PwC does but practically Senior cuz they require 2 years of experience)
Just curious now that a few weeks have passed, have any of you from US big 4 firms had an across the board pay cut related to Covid-19?
With 10 years of experience, post MBA (average B-School) getting an offer of Level 9 with fixed component of 17.5L. Is Level 9 fine to join on, any drawbacks in further appraisals and promotions?
Applied for UX Designer at Deloitte digital, appeared for all 3/3 rounds of interview. After the third and final round, haven't heard from HR in 2 days. How much time should I wait before moving on?
Divorced M 🐠 here who's scared of commitment now. For people looking for an LTR, how certain are you about someone b4 you decide to go exclusive? For e.g. 25% or 75% that he/she is the right person?
McKinsey and BCG 🐠 I got the offers for AS and C roles in the US. Wonder if they will sponsor MBA at all for experience hires?
Do any of you work at Olive? What has your experience been like? I’m currently interviewing and would love to hear more about what interviews were like for you.
Does rotating among 3-4 clients for no more than a month each requires LCA? Some in the same city as my home office and some are not.
I feel for all of those being laid off. Truly best of luck finding something. One thing I realized as a millennial in consulting is job security is non existent.
Towns to stay in and things to do / see on a road trip from SFO to LA over a 3-day weekend? We are both outdoorsy people and love hiking. Thank you 🙌🏻
Guidehouse folks! What perks do you have, i.e. coffee and meals expensed, Uber/Lyfts expensed, flexible/remote work?
My firm is planning to apply for a L1-A visa. Is there any benefit of this if I already have a green card?
Smallest team you’ve ever been on? Do you prefer working on larger teams or smaller ones where you may be the only person who knows what to do for a particular role?
I've been putting my 401k into a target date fund, but the risk/upside just isn't high enough given I'm not retiring for another 30 years. Thoughts on putting it all in a large-cap growth fund (VIGIX)? Returns have been solid over last 10 years. Investing through work, so don't have all funds available to me.
In a world of remote consulting work…. How long can the US maintain its high premium over European and, esp. developing market consulting? Both price tag to clients and significantly higher salaries for the people. I imagine may move faster at Big 4, etc. than MBB, but within MBB the huge cost and salary differentials feel… increasingly hard to maintain (even though I think the differential has actually gotten bigger, not smaller in the last two years). Thoughts?
I'm thinking of leaving Big 4 to go to a boutique firm. I have 2 years of experience. They are bringing me in at the Senior level. Smaller market. Ill be doing consulting on tax credits. They asked me for a salary range- is 75k-85k reasonable? or is that too low?
My boyfriend of 3 years broke up with me yesterday (he moved back home recently, we were doing long distance, and he decided he wanted to focus his time on rebuilding relationships with family/friends he lost touch with). Do any of you have tips of coping with heartbreak while also trying to manage work? I have too much on my plate to take time off, but I’m worried my focus isn’t going to be there on Monday.
Does anyone work fewer than 5 days and have a management role at their agency? I work 4 days and am being told it’s holding back being considered for a promotion.
I got an offer for an L5 role at Amazon Web Services and for a senior role from a non-FAANG company. I'm excited to get into management at AWS but have heard a lot of negative things. Not sure what's the best choice.
