Currently a second year associate in audit and looking for - as ridiculous as it sounds - better pay and better hours. I really like audit but I have only been with the firm for a little over a year and i’m burnt out and worse, starting to lose passion for it. I think the long hours are just not for me. While EY is a great firm and the partners are amazing and all experiences of Big4 and it's resources, MNP has this charm of a Canadian firm and great culture. Aunts & uncles. I visited until busy season which is when my sis-in-law started staying home.
Her and my brother complained about how I didn't go by, which is clearly because of the crazy work schedule- I'm dying to see my niece again!
I started making a serious effort to go by on days that are slow for me, and she is somehow always busy or it's a bad day when I want to go. She suggests a day that I'm busy. 🤦‍♀️ Then they complain when I'm there that I never go by.

Is it worth sticking it out to senior if I’m not interested in tax long term? I could get an offer for a 25 percent raise in industry at any given moment but keep telling myself to stay until a busy season or two is under my belt as a senior.

Do you have someone in your office/group that you just loathe? They’ve only been on good projects with strong project teams since they’ve started. I’ve gone to them for help in the past via a partners suggestion but came to find out they’ve had their hand held the whole time.
