would my WKRP t-shirt cause an issue?
That is a great theme song.
In the good old days when they just reported events factually it wouldn’t have mattered….

Could it be that the teacher visited the news station and was given a complementary shirt that they proudly wanted to wear it? The teacher might not look at it as a form of advertising.
This poor teacher - first the 2A bumper sticker has got to go from his car and now his faux news T shirt has got to go.
Lol

It would depend on the faculty handbook I would imagine.
At my school we just can't wear logos that have sexual words or symbols. Anything that is offensive or inappropriate. News station should be okay
What do you mean by advertising? Does the teacher work for the news station?
For advertising? At that point wouldn’t any number of apparel be inappropriate? All sorts of clothing has brands on display. I think this is a ridiculous notion unless something is inappropriately written or the station is something like Howard Stern. I have a shirt I got for winning an award from a local news station. If I wear that, is it appropriate? I also sometimes wear the t-shirts from restaurants and businesses I’ve been to around the US…is that advertising? If t-shirts are allowed, this is perfectly fine. Sheesh
Yeah those slogans should not be okay. But even just having Fox News or CNN shirts shouldn’t be an issue.
I don’t want to assume, but I imagine the station is something the OP has an issue with. Could be wrong.
Your school and faculty handbook can answer that. There will sure be a list of the things that you are not supposed to do which includes advertising or promotion.
Why do you care? If there is a dress code, then admin may choose to enforce it or not. Of course, that is depending on if they like you or not. Just like anything in life.
Yes. Why would it not be? As long as there is no policy that prohibits it, it's alright.
