Is it bad etiquette to spend less than $50 on a gift? We have a firm holiday party where everyone picks a name and gets a gift for that person, and I don't have a super close relationship with the person that I picked. I grabbed a random bottle of wine (with great reviews) but it isn't a super pricey bottle. There was no price limit but I don't want to look like a dick.

My boyfriend is always on his phone when I approach him to talk about something enthusiastically like may be an incident at work or the vacation details I have planned for us. I’m still on pace for over 2900 hours for the year (5th yr in debt finance) and to be honest, a strong associate (currently enjoying life on 9 active matters...). This new PTO policy is so bogus. I have a newly promoted senior that is still a staff on my large job and just told me they requested a week off during fieldwork, even though they have been unassigned for multiple weeks here and there all summer. They told me they were waiting until August so that they wouldn’t have to use their accrued time so they can bank it. So now I’m totally screwed and down a team member and my manager thinks “I can handle it”. My morale is at an all time low right now.
