Hi everyone. I interviewed for a sales role at Amazon. I was told the role was an L6 and I can stay based in Chicago. Well, the recruiter emailed me today saying the hiring team felt I was better suited for an L5 role (estimated total comp is $140K-$150K) and I would have to move to Seattle. They'll send me an offer if that works. Any advice or opinions on how to negotiate? For context, I gave a desired salary range of $280K-$310K since this was an L6 role, and my current TC at P&G is $200K.
Do recommendations on LinkedIn provide any value to potential employers? Do recruiters look at them? What do recruiters look at on a LinkedIn profile?
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
How do you deal with all of the constant pings? I need some focus time to write emails & create campaigns but my entire team tends to be “on call” with Slack all day and it’s making me crazy. I want to bring this up to the rest of the executive team because we are overboard with the constant notifications and questions/comments that don’t really need to be in slack.
