Is it bad to miss training because you're sick?

Has anyone worked at Sunrise Medical Lab as a medical biller specialist and how was your pay ?

Applied to transfer to another property, found out that my manager told their manager that I had attendance issues, which she has never talked to me about and even said recently that I don’t have any attendance issues. I have been late by about 10 minutes a couple times when the bus is late, and have had to take a couple of emergency sick days, but I’m usually in the office before her. I technically shouldn’t know that she said it at all so I have no idea how to approach her about it.

I have been given a sick note by my doctor to get my hours altered and be on light duty because I’m having crazy pregnancy insomnia. Since I’m not ready to talk about my pregnancy it just says Stress anxiety and tiredness. I’m just really worried this will reflect badly on me but I have become so inefficient at work. What do you think?

My fiancée almost lost her life to a medical emergency. The doctor needed me to stay home 2 weeks to supervise her post-operative care once the hospital discharged her. We had nobody near that could help so I got permission to attend class remotely for 2 weeks from the dean and all professors. One professor removed me from a graded argument the week after I’d return. When I asked about this error, he had said “I had planned on your failure to appear” and that he preplanned giving me a 0 grade.

Got an offer for an in-house role and they only have 10 days off for vacation with a few days additional for sick time off.

For me it’s a major concern, has anyone successfully negotiated additional vacation time and if they have how did they go about it. Was it a successful outcome ?

I am currently an EA in a government law office - so I’m considered a “Legal Administrative Assistant.” I not only support the chief/department head, but I I’m EA & paralegal for all of the associates too. I had a baby in February and was completely unpaid because my county doesn’t offer disability or paid FMLA. So I’m looking. None of the EA jobs I’ve applied to have liked my experience - even if it’s not for c-suite. Anybody know how I can market myself properly in the private EA world?

Sick with a sick baby hardly getting any sleep. Baby is congested cannot breathe through nose well so cannot eat enough. At 7 mo, tried nose frida and saline drops. End of my wits. What can I do?

Question: can a company make you come back to physically work in the office during think time but make you take sick time or unpaid time if you have a fever? I get the need to send people with fevers home but don’t understand why employees can’t work from home like they have the past couple months.

For getting into UI UX, does Google UX course suffice or should I do a long time course like DesignBoat's course? The designboat course is expensive at this point for me since I need to save up for a medical surgery for my parents and looking for a career switch from being a Art Director to a UX person.

Hi friends - need a suggestion. My mother got critically ill due to Covid and has been in the hospital in India for over a month with added complications. Hospital charges are through the roof and it is a long road ahead of us. Are there financial aids, options available to explore to meet the expenses? We are salaried people and parents are retired. I recently went on disability leave and my boss Auto forwarded my emails to my coworker. I have plenty of emails that I need to access that have to do with my getting appointed with the carriers and policies that I have signed for groups.. How do I approach this ? I am upset that he didn’t even tell me. Didn’t clarify weather it’s a standard thing or not so as to ease my mind, etc. NOTHING! Jerk doesn’t care about my success

Well here is a new issue I am troubleshooting today. We have an ADA reasonable accommodation request for gluten free cookies at the reception after the holiday talent show for an employee with celiac disease. I think we might be required to grant this request. Employee has the same right to access the benefits of employment with us as everyone else - here that benefit would be baked goods at the reception. I suppose celiac impairs a major life function - eating, and is a disability. Thoughts?
