First year senior here, what kind of salary bump could I expect if I went from B4 ITS to a mid tier ITS senior role?

I am an owner of a small firm in the Midwest (50 employees). I’d like to make sure our comp and PTO are comparable as possible to the big four in the Midwest. How much are 1 to 5 year cpas working during tax season at big four firms? We base our packages on approx 300 over time hours during tax season (usually 55-60 hours per week Jan to April) and then the off season has 3 weeks of vacation, 2 weeks of comp time and Friday afternoons off from may to sept. How do we compare?

I interviewed with the recruiter and hiring manager for an in house role in March and early April. 4 weeks ago the recruiter told me that the HM enjoyed our conversation and the next step is likely a final panel interview. She said she is just figuring out the details and will talk soon. I haven’t heard anything from her since then, I’ve followed up appropriately but I haven’t heard back at all. The recruiter was super responsive until her last email. This would be the perfect role for me.

People are not willing to settle for jobs that don’t pay. If we can find a better opportunity elsewhere, then we take it. The only way to fix the retention problem is for PA firms to make massive pay increases, which will allow for more applicants and more hires, which will reduce the average workload per person. It’s an obvious fix, leadership just needs to not be stingy.
