50% on 2 projects on paper, 100% on 2 projects in reality
Or 0% on both
I like variety. Also can hide behind the other if you get stuck in a situation đ€«
It is never 50%
I like 25% on 4 projects..oh noo wait I like 12.5% on 8 projects
Even if 50% is real (frequently not), it's an average. All projects have peaks and valleys. If the two project peaks coincide you will be in trouble
50% in 2 projects is the biggest trap in consulting. How about 33% in 3 projects ? Thatâs where Iâm in đ€Šđ»ââïž
The problem is the client doesn't think you are 50%. So you end up being 110% on one and 140% on the other.
It was supposed to be 50% on two projects for me. Turned into 75% plus 50% plus oh wait 25% on an urgent matter. 90 hour weeks until I screamed bloody murder. Donât fall into this trap.
Go for one quality job otherwise you have two ( or more) lackluster performances.
Run donât walk away from that 50/50. Ainât no such thing
Lol ya the âitâs only 50%â line. Donât fall for that shit.
100% on one project. There is a mental âswitchingâ cost when alternating work.
Don't half-ass, always whole-ass

Also @ZS1 donât yâall have factional staffing? Lol my girlfriend works there and sheâs on 4 projects. I thought that was your model so you are more protected from the trap those of us who donât have fractional staffing fall in to when we are told 50/50
If youâre *actually* 50% on both projects, lmk. Always seems 100% on both to me!
Consultant 2 Yea, we have fractional staffing all the time. Keeps variety at play. Has its pluses and minuses. But hey, we have local model. So give and take đ
