Is it better to be a Partner in tech than in healthcare because you would hit your annual sales goals faster? Rationale being that tech just has more money to spend.

I missed adding parents in health insurance for this financial year. my father cancer surgery happened and I spend 15 lakh from savings and debt. Their is further spends in next financial year April and May for chemotherapy & radiation.

I work my best when I am busy and have upcoming deadlines. It’s either procrastination or just short of it, but I never miss a deadline and clients/partners are consistently happy with my work. I have tried forever to change this but have failed every time. Will this ever change or does this only get reinforced as you move up and keep getting more responsibility? I've heard multiple people say at a certain age, it no longer makes sense to make partner. What does that even mean? I know you typically have to be a partner for 10 years to fully vest in the pension. But even if I were a partner for just 2 years, isn't it still better to be a partner? Year 1 partner comp might be almost same as your comp the year you made partner due to health insurance and buy in, but it's not like you're worse off as a partner. And you get your buy in back when you leave.
