Finished interviewing for an ATS role at Microsoft Wednesday. The interviewers said they were recommending me but I haven’t gotten any feedback from the recruiter. I’m at PwC S& and in consulting I always got at least a verbal yes day of or next day after interviewing. Does anyone know how long this usually takes? Do you get a verbal first or do they wait to have a contract?

Bain & Company What is the likelihood of making SAC in September 2022 if I join as an AC on April 18th at Bain & Company? I am a senior consultant at EY with 3.5 years of experience in Data Analytics. Or is March 2023 more realistic? They told me 6 months for promotion but it seems like the two promotion cycles with my different start dates give me 4 or 9 months of experience, nothing in between. I’ll be joining in the private equity group which will be new for me.

Exit opps and prestige don’t differ in US (ignore what these boards say). Crossover is possible but not common, for both PD and culture reasons. But it’s happened!

Uncommon enough that there isn’t enough data to answer the rest of your post.

Unless the firm that you are at does not serve the type of work / industry that you want to do in your region then there is really no point. The marginal prestige difference is usually not worth starting from ground zero to rebuild your network. You will also likely burn some bridges at the firm that you are leaving. The reality is, I have never once seen a job that asked for any subset of MBB firm experience so you really have very similar options globally.
Not frowned upon at all - just tough to justify giving up sponsorship like B2 said
MBA in and of itself doesn’t advance your career at all, as all of these firms have paths that don’t require one. Salary is the same for a role regardless of degree or background

It’s doable, not super common at entry levels. More likely to see at EM or AP levels. But again it’s not unheard of. And literally no one cares if you do it unless you don’t follow the standard McKinsey way of operating.
Happens all the time, especially from BCG 🤣
