Is it common for a biglaw firm to ghost after interviewing with 6 people? I’ve been waiting for over a month and a half and recruiting went silent all of a sudden.

Not trying to read too much into signs because I don’t want to get hopes up to be let down, but what does it mean that a recruiter follows up an email within 1hr not by email, but phone call with an update that I’m one of the two final candidates. I’m getting interview burnout during my job search and this being the first time a recruiter followed up by phone instead of email and quickly at that. When will I see the light at the end of the tunnel?

OMG just finished an interview and HR grilllllllled me. Don’t know how I did…towards the end she asked if I’m interviewing elsewhere and how far along in the process I am. She also asked if hired how fast can I start and how much notice I need to give my employer…she said the earliest I’ll hear back will be early next week…. I’m so nervous. She said there will be 2 more interviews as well as a French test for this role… what kind of a test to test my French … I’m just so worried…

Considering buying a home for the first time. Do I need to stop applying for credit cards 120 days out from the mortgage application (or more)? Interviewed (via Zoom) with an out of town firm about a possible lateral position in mid-March. They were extremely positive, hinted at an offer, but stated it was a timing issue with COVID (understandable). Checked in a few times, silence for months, wrote it off, but was informed recently go before the Hiring Committee early next week. For the last four weeks or so of WFH I’ve been making it to my desk around 7:30/8am and working basically without a break—lunch at desk- but cannot maintain momentum past like 6:30/7:30pm. Most of the day is billable work, but I cannot bring myself to finish outstanding assignments after 8pm, but then feel so guilty when I’m not working past that time. Am I burnout or fucked up? (Also I hate this gig & am not in it for the long haul, just hate not turning things quickly)
