Is it common for cyber security consultants to be “on call” or work weekends?

On-call only if you are in managed services. Weekends work depends on projects.

I didn’t think it was but we have it at our firm. Was not advertised in the job listing or during interviews which was annoying and we are not a managed service provider.

Dang...what’s your title

It depends on the project and the client. Everyone wants to say no, but sometimes you have to.

*Caveat: This post is about waiting between interviews*
The waiting game between interviews make me so anxious. I know there are a billion posts like it, but I just think it could be a little more efficient. Also, does anyone notice a shift in the culture? I have asked a few people about their work/life balance and they said- it’s actually tilted more towards work. Is that true?

Can anyone give me honest feedback on what being a copywriter is like at FCB Health NY? I have an interview but looking on here all I see is *really* negative feedback, so I’m very apprehensive. Glassdoor has a lot of bad reviews too. I’m currently at a smaller agency and I like it, but getting the itch to move up in salary & have more opportunities to produce good work. Tempted by FCB for those reasons, but value work/life balance.

Have an offer at EY as a SC2 for 140k base and 5k sign on in their commercial practice.
Currently a SC2 (about to be SC3 and begin promo year in January) at Deloitte in GPS making 110k base, but getting a market adjustment next week. The EY job seems "meh" as far as the actual work and currently have great WLB/easy life with good metrics and clear upward mobility. Thoughts on the offer and if I should switch?

I'd prefer to leave D to go to some sort of tech company vs another b4 tbh

I’ve worked in Consulting for the past 2.5 years and I’ve loved it! Today is the day where all the horror stories I’ve heard about consulting came true. I worked until 1AM this morning to finish deliverables for a client I’m working on. I’ve had PTO on the books for the past two months and jumped on a flight this morning to enjoy the rest of the week off. I land and my phone buzzes for a fire drill that only I can solve. Should I work for the next 10 hours and fix or say screw it not my problem?

Hi! First time working with a larger company - suggestions on handling pronouns at work?

I’ve worked with smaller agencies where it was easier to bring up. Now I’m on a larger team, talking to/referencing people I’ve never met. I’m less concerned about my own pronouns and more concerned about how to make sure I’m using the correct pronouns for the people I work with.

I’ve been structuring sentences to avoid gender specific pronouns but would love to hear suggestions. Thanks!

Hello! This is a long story, so I’ll try to keep it brief. I work for a very small supplement company - it’s myself (marketing/acct mgmt) my coworker (sales), and the owner. My coworker is struggling to complete his tasks/meet his goals, and the owner is coming to me about angry clients. I’m afraid my coworkers inability to complete his duties is somehow being reflected onto me? What’s the most tactful way to have a conversation, either with him or the owner? Can provide further detail if needed

Obviously exits into Bay Area or Boston Biotech are the golden goose, but some of the legacy pharma companies in Jersey are pretty hot right now and certainly well positioned from an innovation perspective (JNJ, Merck, Celgene / BMS, NVS). Obviously living in Jers doesn’t sound the best, but some of these companies are hiring interesting positions that feel like they set-up eventual moves to Boston / Bay Area pretty well. Thoughts ?
