Is it common practice now to receive an NDA to sign prior to the first interview?

I have been recently interviewing at many firms these past couple of weeks. I feel like a lot of talent mangers/ Managers have been low balling hours. BDO/Baker Tilly said an audit senior can expect to work 55-60 hours. I find that hard to believe.

Is it really that difficult to get hired for a federal job? I was interviewed for a GS12 job but never heard back, they still didn’t hire anyone and I didn’t get a rejection. I applied for another GS07 job, was accepted, I took it, but I believe I can do better. I have a master’s and have extra graduate research experience. I am still applying to new jobs but I was told it is impossible to move up the grade level now. Everyone is telling me to stick with the government. What are your thoughts?

There is this big bank where I'd love to work at, and after several interviews for various positions they end up promoting someone from within, even thou I understand it and think it’s good they promote their people, it left me feeling like I'm just being used to comply with the process.

Completed onsite interviews for the TAM role and recruiter gave me feedback that my technical depth wasn’t up to par for the role but my googleness/leadership and GCA interview feedback was stellar so they plan to propose me for Cloud PM roles instead. Does this happen? Or are they just being nice? What’s the probability that they’ll match me to another role?

It's been two weeks I didn't receive the offer letter. What could be the reason. I'm going through lot of waiting period stress. Am I going to get offer letter or not.

I am in discussion with my boss on my increment and I am being told that my increment is based on my experience in this industry since I am fairly new (2.5yrs) while I am consistently exceeding expectations with 4 as my performance score. Well, my point is - Does industry experience stop your growth even if you have made a difference in the role assigned and bagged additional activities based on performance??

Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!

looking for some advice! I’m coming up on my 1 year at the company I work for. I am a General Manager of a mid-sized lodge, I manage about 12-15 employees and have no assistant manager. The job also requires you to live in property (rent free) because there is no 24/7 desk agent. Meaning every night at 9pm the after hours calls come to me. This feels a little low to me, especially after setting aside ~28% for self-employment taxes, but it would pivot my career more into edTech which I would love. I got an offer as a Principal IS Architect (Level 6) at Amgen and my comp is as follows: 180k base, 15% Target Bonus, 25k Sign-on, 25k New-hire RSU (vests 4 years), 20k Annual target RSU (SF based salary).

2nd, 3rd, 4th years: ~251k

This is a remote role. I want to know if I am being lo-balled as I expected the 2nd year onwards comp to be at 260k+.
