Is it considered unprofessional to send an email instead of a formal letter? Specifically, my firm has been retained by a title insurance company to obtain an easement for an insured property. Our first step is to reach out to the neighbor to ask them to grant the easement directly. The neighbor is a realtor and I easily found his email address online - I went to draft an email to him but found myself wondering if it’s unprofessional to send an email rather than formal letter. Thoughts?

Florida ppl: I live in a condo & the AC in my unit is leaking refrigerant. Repairmen came by as the AC kept freezing & they said it's leaking inside and the only way to fix it is to replace it. My landlord is refusing to replace the unit for at least 6 months. He's hoping that the Freon they put it will magically fix it. Lease says that he has to keep things in working order. My electric bill is mega high because of this. It's annoying to deal with. I have health concerns about that leak. Help?

I’ve had the opportunity to be third chair on a trial, and will likely be second chair in an upcoming trial. However, given the track record of the firm and the amount of money at stake in each case, I am afraid I won’t get any first chair experience, if any, for at least another 5-7 years. I am considering staying at the firm but trying to get trial experience through side Pro Bono work. Thoughts?

Does anyone else feel like they are becoming less confident as they get more senior? When I was right out of my clerkship I felt really confident because I have good research and writing skills; but I feel like I don’t have spectacular judgment when it comes to making all sorts of less studied decisions and it makes me feel incredibly nervous and not confident. I figured I’d get more confidence as the years went by, but I feel like I trust myself and my abilities less.
