Any insight on getting MBA from mendoza as far as prospects for transitioning into a post-mba strategy consulting role? It’s ranked outside the top 15 but from research seems like it still sends plenty of grads to top consulting firms (not MBB)
How is non-MBB consulting viewed in the big scale? Looking into exit opps, but people keep acting like I’m giving up gold by trying to leave, yet I feel like almost anything is better than here
Does MBB have a strong presence in the DC area?
What are the best consultancies for digital strategy and customer experience design? Do any of the B4 or MBB have strong practices here?
Aspiring to be a management consultant I am currently working with Hyundai as Assistant manager. I desire to join MBB in consulting line I don't hold an MBA degree but have rich experience in S&OP Can someone help me
McKinsey has pretty traditionally been considered the best of MBB, followed by BCG, then Bain. Given all the scandals its dealt with this past few years do you think its standing within MBB will drop? I think its too big to fall out of the group but I definitely am leaning towards BCG being the new preferred/top option for people trying to break in to consulting.
How much work, if any, does MBB do with Bill & Melinda Gates, World Bank, USAID, etc.? Could one specialize in doing this type of work?
People who have moved from one MBB to another MBB, how was it and any benefits/regrets from moving?
Considering a switch from MBB to FAANG in a strategy or business development role. Current TC is around $450-475k. What would be your minimum TC number you'd leave MBB to join FAANG? Would you ever leave for a reduction in TC?
Federal MBB🐠, were you given the opportunity to work any commercial projects your 1st year with the firm (if desired)? Had a final round years ago but friend advised me to stop the process given passion was retail. At the time switching practices was unheard of, have the times changed? Bridges never burned, debating re-kindle conversations...
I gotta say, when FB was launched we only had the Big4, MBB, ATK, OW, Accn, IBM, LEK, Booz. Also, focus was MC/Strategy. I've come to appreciate firms like Slalom, Huron etc -not so much audit group
MBB interview tomorrow. I’ve been studying hard for the last two weeks. Do I go to my intramural b-ball game @ 9pm or study the rest of the night. Confidence level 50%
Took the GRE instead of GMAT, does consulting firm like MBB look at those if it’s high enough?
Got a referral to MBB a few weeks ago, but still haven’t heard anything- wanted to know if this was normal?
I would kill someone to get into MBB
Do you actually enjoy your job at MBB? Or are you just there for the money/prestige/exit opps? Been hearing horror stories about the WLB and didn’t know why else people would be sticking it out there if not for those 3 things.
From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
Seeking advice: Would you consider business development role as a good exit from MBB? Is BD skill valuable? Is the impression that BD is pure salesman wrong?
How many interview slots are usually provided for MBB in Canada? Is it allocated by specific school? McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
My wife and I work at the same company and are at the same level, doing the same role, though different departments. She gets paid 15% less than me. I joined after her and didn't know her salary. We've been living with this for a while, and she's gone back asking for a pay bump but been denied, but she did not mention that she was married to a man who had a different pay rate. Should she go back again and mention that? She was hesistant to bring our personal lives into it, but I thought she should call that out specifically. I'm not sure what I should do on my side.
What are the lessons that you have learnt from Strategy Consulting that you may not learn in other management consulting?
My Senior keeps giving me (A1 newhire) vague and conflicting information for what they want me to work on. I just got moved to this client a week and a half ago to help out with filing, and am expected to go off a simple look at X section and figure it out. Just stresses me out a ton and feel like I cant assist with anything legit. Ill ask for clarifications but it just seems like im going in circles. Were supposed to be filing next Friday and its not looking up.
Has anyone gone through the interview process at Peloton and can provide any insights about your experience? Thank you!
Has anyone taken Amtrak recently? Im traveling from NY to Providence by NER and want a row to myself. Ill be leaving on Thursday and returning on Tuesday in mid- September. Is it better to reserve a seat in business class or try for coach
Do any big 4 offer tuition assistance?
College awkward conversation starter "where you from, what's your major?" has just morphed into Management Consulting with "so what project are you on?" Does anyone actually care when they ask that?
Anyone have insight on PriceMetrix by McKinsey? Is culture similar to McKinsey or fairly independent? Has anyone recruited with them?
Hoping to relocate from the Midwest to Oregon. Family lives in Bend but we'd like to stay within 30-45 min of PDX. Recommendations for family friendly cities/neighborhoods that won't break the bank? Expensive taste with a middle class budget😆 Great public schools are a must.
