Is it difficult to switch jobs between different type of funds ? For example from Big4 to Hedge fund then to a Private equity fund ? Do people specialize in one type of fund when they become an Assistant controller or else ? Thanks

Generally hedge and PE aren’t all that different so you would be able to move between them and transfer your skills. I’ve seen people go to a larger shop after big four and then to a smaller shop to move up. I.e. start at Blackrock, Apollo, or KKR and then get assistant controller at a smaller shop. I haven’t seen too many people go the other way

Anytime happy to help! I’ve been working at a larger fund for almost 2 years. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

Trump has the opportunity to credit himself with healing the broken fabric that binds Americans. All he has to do is a concession speech and a call in it to unite our brothers and sisters. That would be his revenge and a chance to take back the lost dignity. Else, I am not sure what the history will ever give him credit for.

I currently make 63k as a 3D Artist and been with the company 3.5 years. I have a few years outside of this company doing freelance work. I feel like I’m not getting what I should be at this point. I was told I may be getting a raise soon but I don’t know how much. I’m in Virginia, but with remote work now available, not sure what I should be looking at as an acceptable raise before looking elsewhere. Am I wrong in my thoughts or should I be asking for more?

For people who left PA. Did your new job ask for references? I've only ever worked at EY so I would have to ask current bosses. I would not feel comfortable doing that while still working.
