If you know someone at the in IB, sure

Get an MBA and it’s super easy. No one really wants to do IB any more so comp out of MBA is limited

For someone interested in an investor, do you still think it’s smart to go tech Corp dev before PE/VC ?

Yes.

How about from pre-deal M&A (strat/CDD/ODD) to IB? Easier path ?

Been here several years. Only just clicked to me how predatory Big 4 are. Business model is to use cheap, underpaid labor from college grads who can't go elsewhere or pay debts. Churn em and burn em.

Hi All, I need some suggestions. I am currently working in a Big 4 post my MBA from tier 2 IIM college as consultant but the work is pure PMO work which I am doing right now. I am completely confused about my career track and have no idea whether the PMO work will help me or not in long run. Not sure about the exit opportunities from this role? And what if I keep doing this pmo work, where will I land up? I wish to transit into a product manager or may be program manager role.

Anyone at b4 merge your phone number to the company issued cell phone? Do they get to keep your number if you leave? I’ve had the same phone number my entire life and don’t want to lose it…not that I ever plan on leaving.

Hi folks, I am a java lead with 9 years of experience skilled in Spring boot, microservices along with cloud exposure. I am not certified in any cloud platform though. Currently my ctc is 18.70. Targetting a big 4 with ctc of 30 lpa. Please do share your thoughts if my skill set is really worth it to ask for around 30 lpa. Is pwc, deloitte, kpmg going to entertain such expectations.?

Have an offer in industry. It’s a relatively new company that is growing fast and lots of opportunity to move up quickly and make a difference. Salary increase wouldn’t be large but enough to make a difference. My heart wants to do it but there is risk involved - not as much stability as the Big 4 company I work for and I’m supporting a family. What do I do? Follow my passion or stay in the safe zone given things are still up in the air with Covid? I appreciate your opinion fishes!

I received an offer from Big 4 for an SC3 role. The offer states that I will be eligible for a salary adjustment in Oct 2022. What does this mean? Is that when annual raises occur, or will they review my performance and determine if I should be promoted to manager? I have enough YOE for a manager, but the team recommends that I come in as SC3 to learn how things are done since I have no prior consulting experience.

I'm actually the client. Need to hire a consultancy for a project (5ppl). Proposals were horrible. KPMG didn't have the staffing. PWC we cannot take since they are the auditor (somehow we didn't ask EY). Now I am stuck with Deloitte or a boutique. Thoughts? Senior management cannot decide. My team cannot decide. This has been going on for months. Thoughts?

Ethical question: would you try to negotiate a raise in current job if you know you’re actively looking elsewhere? Context: had an incredibly challenging year with a huge project that completed successfully. Extremely complex tasks and long hours. Got an award for “disruption” but in summary, the role evolved and now I want to ask for market adjustment /as well as merit raise. I also hate what I do at the moment and can’t wait to leave, but might take months. Should I still ask for a raise?
