Additional Posts in In-House Counsel
Any in-house counsel in here willing to post their company, level or YOE, and total comp breakdown? If you’re comfortable, please consider posting both your current stats and what your stats were when you first moved in-house. If there’s any other information that you want to share, please include that too (e.g., hours, interesting perks, etc.). Info on in-house salaries is pretty hard to come by, and it would be great to compile some data points here! Facebook Amazon Google Netflix Apple

Don’t do this. If they aren’t paying you what you’re worth and they won’t unless you threaten to leave. They don’t value you. Also we’re about to hit a recession so if this works for you and you stay you’re likely to be the first one out. Because they already know you have a foot out the door and you’re likely making more than your colleagues
A1 with excellent advice.
My partner was a senior Ops lead at a biglaw firm and in her review, they told her she was incredible and asked if she had any questions. She asked for three things: (1) another head on her team, bc she was short-staffed for complicated reasons that don’t matter here, (2) for a few days off late in the year, and (3) for a $10k raise.
They said no to all of those things.
She went and found another job. When she told them she was leaving, they asked what they could do. She said she told them 4 weeks prior in her review. They said they’d do them all now.
She told me this and I said RUN. Never stay at a place that refuses to give the best people what they’re worth until they force their hand.

Depends on the company. This works in mine but doesn't work in all of them.
I have been doing this but I don’t disclose I’m interviewing. I’ve just told my supervisor I don’t feel my comp is market and what I think market is and where I should be….
I second the if you get an offer don’t just stay because current company will match comp. that’s a recipe for disaster but if you don’t get an offer it gives you good data points on what comp other companies are offering.
