Yes! I had my initial recruiter meeting on Wednesday, 2 quick chats on Thursday and offer Friday morning after I told the recruiter I needed an expedited process. They will make it happen if you are a quality candidate
It’s fine just say I was not looking but have an opportunity that came from a referral
Just give full transparency on one hand if you get an offer from the other you can ask them to wait a week and on the other just let them know. What level is it?

Got verbal confirmation from a big4 firm that they will be proceeding with me, and a verbal offer. Though comp and details need to be ironed out. Recruiter asked me if there were other offers / interviews, and I said no. Next day, I was reached out internally for a role by someone who would like to poach me. My preference is to move out, though recruiter said the final offer will take couple weeks.
Just tell them while your weren’t actively looking for other positions another opportunity presented itself.
What these people are saying. Recruiters will typically ask if you are actively interviewing with other firms and even if they don't, you don't have to say 'hurry up' but it's easy to tell them that or if you have another offer on the table.

Yes. You have a decision timeline and you’re letting them know how to work with you.
Recruiting will often take a back seat to other things, so getting some pressure to I’ve can be helpful.

I had this happen. Your relationship with your HR Rep shouldn't be passive. While I told mine that I wasn't far in the pipeline for anything else, when things aggressively moved to the next stage - literally 30 minutes after I got off the phone with her - I called her back and said: This is Firm2's timeline. They came back with an offer in <36 hours and I entered into that second firm's interview with the first's offer in hand. Firm 2 tried to compete, couldn't and it had driven me well past any retaining effort my prior company could keep. Within 36 hours I knew I had shut up and pay me comp at firm 1, 72ish hours after that I had completed interviews at Firm 2 and received their offer, and I was both feet out the door at my original firm.
