Hi fam, I need some advice. I have an offer to leave consulting to go to a “startup” I’m really excited about. That said, the comp is on the lower end of what I was hoping for (slightly lower than what I’m making now, including equity) and there’s a very good chance I’m getting promoted to manager next month at my current firm. No room to negotiate TC so that’s off the table. I’ve interviewed for a few FAANG roles (which didn’t work out for a mix of reasons) with TC much higher than...
Has anyone been in a situation where they receive two offers at the same company? I am interviewing for two different roles with separate departments. I am nearing towards the end of the process for both. I don’t think either recruiter knows. My main concern is that I may be pulled from consideration for one of the roles.
Looking for advice. I’m currently interviewing for a position that pays $20k more than I make now. It seems like the job would not be giving me much for my portfolio and may have some work/life balance issues (but tbh what agency doesn’t). I’ve got piles of student loan debt. I’m only in year 2 of my career. Do I take this job for a year, deal with the downsides, pay off a huge chunk of my debt, then get back to fun stuff? Or will it hurt my career to have a portfolio gap?
I had my h1b interview on 8th Jan and approved by CO.. I'm still waiting for my passport, the status on ceac website shows administrative processing.. anyone have any experience like this?
For those of you who are successful in your interview process and landed on an offer, did you feel like you ace every question they asked in in the interview and articulate perfectly? I’m a bit nervous now Bc I felt like I could have spoken better 😭😭😭😭
Super unhappy with my current project/firm and looking to pivot quickly. Struck out at an MBB final round last week, had been prepping for a while. What’s the best course of action moving forward? Continue networking, applying, and trying to get referrals? Not sure how much longer I can take it doing current work. For context, went to an Ivy and have 2YOE. Any help’s appreciated.
I was contacted by a Facebook recruiter for a Data Scientist interview, but I'm not ready to take a new job right now. Should I take the interview for the practice or would that look bad if I want to seriously apply next year?
I have cleared my first round interview in HCL and after that I got call from HR for salary Negotiation but it was not completed. It's been 10 days and I didn't got the call and that HR person is not lifting my call as well. I have submitted the BGV details as well. Can I still expect the call from HR?
I have started looking for a new job after being at my first post-law school job for only a couple of months. I’ve been applying and I’ve talked to some recruiters who seem wary of me being early in my career and leaving. Would love some advice from people who have experienced something similar (staying at my current job is not an option at this point)
How long did it take to process H4 and H4 EAD this past year. My SO just got their EB1 denied after multiple RFEs. Now have to switch to H4, as the H1B is expiring soon. We’re applying for an O in parallel. Looking for advise or positive stories to stay hopeful. I have an approved I-140
Applying to Wharton, CBS, NYU, MIT Round 1, wondering what else I should add based on my stats: 750 (48Q, 44V, 5IR - is this a flag?) 3.7 GPA in accounting T50 4 YOE at matriculation at Big 4 Audit with good innovation/leadership highlights. Founded club and other ECs from college, recent advisory board positions but don’t have much to list from them yet. Target is consulting.
Help! Need some tips on negotiating. Step by step. SC at Deloitte offered at AWS for L5 data scientist. Big raise to $240k TC. 3 YOE+MS. Word of mouth says that this is a good offer for my location (DC). I have a bunch of questions and I'm also looking for any tips for anything I'm missing. -Even if it's a good offer, is there always $ on the table to ask for? -I have a final interview elsewhere this Thursday. Should I start negotiating now or wait until I hear on the other option? ...
How long does it take EY FSO Advisory to provide interview feedback? I believe I had my final round on Monday and haven’t heard back yet. They also updated the job posting date. Bad sign?
Left Public in January after getting my CPA license. At an industry gig now doing tax....is there any point to doing CPE and keeping my license active if I'm not using it? I'd reactivate it when applying for new jobs but don't plan on job hopping for another 3 yrs or so.
Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.
How do I know when I'm ready for SQL interviews? I feel pretty comfortable with different joins, window functions, and subqueries, and I feel like that's been enough to do everything on Leetcode and StrataScratch. Anything other topics people would recommend reviewing?
How long did you wait between interview rounds? I had my first R1 interview in may, and found out around Memorial Day that I was moving on to the next round. Since that day, I’ve followed up a few times (1x every 2-3 weeks) but it’s been radio silent. The Hiring Manager who I have spoken to said I’m still on their candidate list. I know the process at Google takes awhile, but wondering if I should continue to follow up/if this is an indication. It’s for a Pgm role in GCP
How does someone get good at case interview? Been watching so many interviews but feel like I'm just getting more confused?
If anyone is looking for a job working in RSM's tax financial services group that has experience in either Private Equity, Hedge Funds, or Venture Capital space send me a message. Please have a resume for me to review and then I can get you setup for an interview. I am based on Los Angeles, but I am not concerned about location, as we need people in this space all throughout the firm. I spent 13 years with the big four before making the move and it was the best decision I have made.
what have you to say about taking 1-2 week break before starting in a new company? I can’t pass the thought of the opportunity cost ( losing a half month salary)
Hi BCG fish, Can you provide me comp details for BCG Digital Consultant. This is mostly in DAS - digital accelerator something. Looking for fixed comp and bonus ranges? Also, what industries do BCGDigital consultants work in? Is it only tech or also in other industries such as Financial services?
Ladies! I’m curious, which benefits do you look for when moving to a new firm? Lots of recruiters talk about expanding diversity, hiring women, blah blah, but I’m not sure benefits have changed much
Looking to Switch from Transfer Pricing into DDV, Valuations, or Operations consulting. Econ major. Worked as an equity research intern before joining the firm. Minor PE experience. Not sure if valuations is right for me but prepping for interview tomorrow. Any Advice?

Does Deloitte do case interviews for experienced hires in their Consulting - Marketing practice?
What’s EY Associate Director in Advisory equivalent to? I don’t see that role in the other Big 4s. Is it equivalent to Deloitte Consulting SM role or one better than that?
Some call it quitting on your team, U.S. Gymnastics are calling it mental health issues. I'm calling it something more specific related to sports psychology: the yips. It's bad athletic performance having the yips, but when continuing can turn you into the next Elena Mukhina, backing out is the right call. Alternate history: Simone continues on, manages not to break her neck, but absolutely s**ts the bed and is criticized for taking the US off the podium when knew she wasn't on her game.
Any ideas on how to disconnect and disengage from the multiple projects they've thrown me into as they extract every last ounce of labour from me in order to make it another 6 months? Have to stay that long so I don't pay back the signing bonus. I usually give work my all but just don't have it in me anymore. Ideas on how to coast? And no, flagging my burn out won't help. They know. They don't care.
Deloitte is aggressively hiring oracle cloud consultants especially with HCM experience. DM if interested!
Are comp days a thing at your agency? If so do you have to ask, is it a direct day for a day thing, or do you get shamed just for even asking should you dare ask for sacrificing personal downtime from what is an already stacked work schedule?
Does anyone know what’s the remuneration package like for SC at Deloitte SEA located in SG? And whether there’s band within each level ie SC1, SC2, etc? Is it possible to get promote after 1 year?
Anyone at Guidehouse know if they reimburse CPE required for certifications? Such as for CPA, etc. as well as any membership fees?
