All firms for sure. No one likes excuses during busy season even if they are really good excuses.
Because everyone else showed up Saturday morning and worked all day
I took exams during busy season and did not feel like it was frowned upon at all.
Oh I was just trying to relay what my team would say. Personally I say take the exam whenever you want, we're all adults (even though sometimes we aren't treated as such)
As long as you're getting your work done I don't think anyone cares. I'm taking BEC in January and don't really give a f*** about what anyone else thinks. ✌🏻
But if you take an exam Saturday morning, what’s the big deal if you work for the rest of the day??
If it's really necessary to make up the hours OP could just work Sunday for the missed hours. And if you get your work done, I'd say go for it!
There is a test center in my state that does Sunday exams so it really was none of their business.
I took an exam during busy season and had no problems with my team. I communicated ahead of time and just showed up to work after my exam
The usual reaction from my office is "sure, you can take an exam then... but will you have enough time to study?" It's more of a neutral response, not this hostility you seem to be describing.
It depends. I got my CPA during busy season and it was one of the reasons for a high rating. Get your shit done and people will just be impressed that you did it. If they are upset, then you in the wrong office compadre..
You all don't work both Saturdays and Sundays during busy season?
Go ahead and take your test
We had to work 4 Sundays last year during busy season. But the partner gave us those 4 days back as "PTO"
Senior 1 - depends on your job of course, but the usual I've seen is Monday-Friday and then however long you need on Saturday to meet your hours quota or get the job done.
