The new buzzword.

Layoffs, reorganizations, title changes, role changes, etc.

Yep. It's definitely become overly popular lately. Primarily non-tech people have discovered that's their way in.

It's getting more exposure/popular but that doesn't that everyone applying is qualified so don't be discouraged!

I wouldn’t call it a buzzword. Maybe at some small unproven companies, yes. But at any respectable tech company you can’t get into PM without a lot of technical knowledge, so keep that in mind before jumping to the conclusion that it’s just non-tech people who want to join the tech party. Many former engineers and product design people who know their stuff. I do always think you should have experience in Eng or PD before PM tho.

Definitely! I think it's also partly because a ton of people are shopping for new jobs, in general, right now

They’re out there and good product managers are hard to come by! Keep looking.

I agree. That role is exploding right now. Hard to break into at an entry level for sure.

Yeah, I think with all the "product market fit" language and emphasis on product after Google's explosive success with product marketing, it has steadily grown over the years.

Yeah. We’re hiring as a startup and having difficulty finding people. We can’t compete against the big guys.

UBC1, sure thing. Happy to.

Potential transfer from an internal finance role at B4 to ACN digital finance strategy. For background I’m a third year project controller at B4. My friend is referencing me for the consultant position at ACN. Is it worth the shot given I don’t have client facing experience? If so, any tips on how to brand myself without that experience?

I’ve been on H1B October 2019, expiring in 2022. I’m kind of clueless as to what happens next. Does my firm start the green card process soon because it’s been almost 2 years (ive heard/read you need to work 2 years before they do that at big 4). What does that entail and how long until the green card comes out after that? And when they renew my H1B for another 3 years is that a guarantee extension and not a lottery like the first one?

Working under PAS (mobility tax) for 3+ years and got an offer to go PCS. However the base is slightly lower by 3k from what I am making right now. Title down from senior to tax consultant ll, but re-evaluation in upcoming June and maybe able to get promote back to senior. My questions is, if the comp got negotiated the same. Doesn’t PCS actually opens more opportunities than global mobility tax in the future? I know I don’t want to be in mobility tax for ever.
