I'm racking up a backlog of points that I'm not spending, SPG, Marriott, Amex, Chase(SR), AA and Dellta. What's the best way to keep track of them all and manage for best redemption?
My background check is taking forever and now they are asking me to provide my letter of separation for a job I held 7 years back. This is making me anxious since I am also in the process of H1B transfer - I just want them to tell me if I passed the check or not before I resign. - Anyone have an experience with a spotty background check and how fast/tedious it was. For ref for both my last jobs (in US) it was seamless.
Does USCIS prohibit the individual from paying all expense related to GC filing like the h1b filing fees?
I am an SAP FICO consultant on H1B. Got just laid off and looking for a job. Can you guys kindly give me some leads/referrals.
Going to be ~5 nights short to maintain Marriott/SPG platinum status. Any options? Already have the Amex card. Thanks!
Does Big4 hire ACCA individuals from international countries (they will not need visa sponsorship and would be legally authorized to work in USA).
Need some advice - not happy at current job and looking to move from Consulting to FAANG. Have 2.5 years left on H1B and am still stuck at PERM step with current firm. good idea to try a move now and hope that my I140 comes through with new company before i max out?
Credit card holder recommendations please! I like to have my credit cards, IDs, DL all together in a compact cardholder. Nothing crazy, up to $100 but flexible since it stays inside the@purse mostly
Has anyone taken Schengen visa for one country and landed in a different Schengen country? I've got a Schengen visa from France consulate and planning to land in Switzerland or Italy. Is this doable?
This is my last day in the US. My H1B was denied and I am moving back to india 🇮🇳. Thanks for the good times America! Peace ✌🏽
I just heard something about cross chargeability for the green card process. Did anyone use it? At what stage should you use it?
Anyone applied for Chase Ink cards - for businesses and gotten approved. I don’t have a business outside of my current job.
I am on H1b visa and so is my wife. My visa stamp is expired, and if I go on H4 Ead and want to visit my country, how does coming back to US works? Need stamping or something with Ead?
I recently posted about moving to Antigua and Barbuda to live and work remotely on the digital nomad visa. Several people expressed interest in how I'm doing it, so I created an instagram. I'm documenting the steps of emigrating including pet import licenses, enrolling kids in an international school, cooking local food, and assimilating to life in the Caribbean. For those who are interested, check me out at: https://www.instagram.com/webelongbythesea/
Forget Glassdoor. The government publicly reports the salaries of H1B visa employees. http://h1bdata.info/index.php?em=&job=&city=&year=All
Anybody who can help me with the contacts for some immigration attorneys who can review the documents for a change of visa status application (F1 OPT to B1/B2). Not looking for anything which is over $200/hour.
Hey guys, got an offer from a niche consulting firm with a great reputation. Their pay is lower in comparison to market but is currently higher than mine. Would it be appropriate to ask them for future Green Card sponsorship / include it as part of the offer letter (obviously, upon meeting satisfaction requirements). Need your advice on negotiating here. BTW, I’m from the UK.
Is it easy to get a nonconsulting role in Social Impact, Corporate Social Responsibility, Purpose & People? MSHR and SHRM-SCP with 10+ years of experience in compliance, global mobility, people development, workforce strategy and disability advocacy.
How do you prepare for case interviews with industry companies? I imagine the best way to understand their background is looking at the platform, their monetization strategies, earnings reports etc etc. What kind of possible questions could be asked in the case scenario?
Received an offer to lateral to a Big Law firm in my current state. Kind of my dream job. Recently decided with my spouse that we’ve had more than enough of our current state and we want to move out of state next year. There’s no local office for this firm where we’re going, and no idea if remote would be an option. Conflicted on whether it’s fair to take the position, although I really want it. Thoughts?
Would love some opinions, moms. Because of covid, I’ve kept my kids home since March 2020. I predict we will not have spent $5k on dependent care in 2020 that we elected last year. Almost but not quite. It’s open enrollment time, should I elect the some amount for 2021?
Hi 🐠 two offers — would love to hear any insight: Offer 1: Walmart senior product manager: $200K base; $50k bonus, $40k stock vesting 4 years, $40k stock each year (vesting 4 years), $20k signing. TC YR1= $280k Offer 2: pre-ipo start up product manager, $145k base, $55k bonus, $40k shares, $15k signing. TC YR1=$225K. Work at startup is more interesting and greater WLB but not sure if the $$ makes it worth it. Thanks!
Anyone can share insights on what is the average salary raise and bonus at Grant Thornton and Moody's investors service? Also, what should be the salary expectation range for a 6+ YOE, MBA, CFA ,FRM for New York Location in the financial services industry?
If I apply to a position on StaffIt, does the person who posted it get an automated notification? Or does it have to flow through my Resource Manager?
Prior to covid I was a driven woman who was a top performer on my team. In the past 18 months I have really lost all motivation and have embraced being an average performer. I accept this because at 30, single and stagnant professionally I have come to the realization that I need to prioritize the things that I want in life and although I do want to continue to be financially successful I want a family- more. I am not sure if I should explore a flexible work arrangement
Moms, both husband and I are nearing the end of our parental leave. We live in a two bedroom in NYC. We are thinking of hiring a nanny. The plan is that I would work from one room and husband would work from another room. We can move the changing table and pack n play in the living room, and the nanny and the baby can hang in the living room. Does this sound like a good plan?
Had a trip to Mexico booked last year for New Year’s Eve with SO, we canceled when covid really was up ticking in the fall and received vouchers for everything. We rebooked a month back assuming covid was tamed but now with delta I’m really nervous. I’m vaccinated but the reports rn with breakthroughs aren’t great. We would be leaving for Mexico this coming weekend. We don’t have time to rebook given the timelines of our vouchers. I can’t decide if we should go or just eat the trip at this point
I know M&A has a terrible rep, but if there’s anyone who enjoys it (or at least doesn’t completely hate it), could you please say what you like about the practice? Interviewing for an M&A position and really do want to love the job, at least for a year. FYI, I’m retooling from lit, and no, staying at my current firm isn’t an option.
Working on an industry wide compensation comparison. If you’re interested, please take the quick survey and we’ll share results soon. Please spread the word.
Just started at another B4, is it too soon to mention to the recruiter I know someone else who’s interested in coming over?
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Reviewing resumes and I see more and more frequent that people last one year or less at a job and move on to the next. Is that the new norm? I’m a millennial but my last job I was with for over 4 years. Can I ask in the interview why they’ve moved around so much? Or find a nicer way of asking that. I’m definitely looking for longevity not a hopper.
24F here. I would love to raise my own children one day, but it just feels immoral to me to bring a new life into a world that I view as failing new generations (climate change, fractured political landscape, income inequality). I’m thinking of adopting but know my SO doesn’t want to. Has anyone else faced this question? Just trying to get the thoughts out there
Any updates on bonus, increase and promotion?
Is it worth doing the bank bonus churn? Seems like a pain to keep switching direct deposits, but seems a good way to make an ok amt of cash at least for a yr.
Most awkward Uber stories? My uber driver showed me a picture of her baby. Um, it was a doll.
