Is it just me or do you find yourself so fatigued by the end of the week that you just want to stay home, drink something, and play on your phone until you go to sleep?

I’m not fatigued (what are you - old?) so much as anchored by kids. All of my time outside of work revolves around my kids’ activities. I realize I don’t have much of a personal identity, anymore. I can only recount the things I used to enjoy.

Lincoln, I feel the same way. I want to stay home, order a pie of pizza, and watch Comedy Central until I drift off. Other people criticize me and judge me for this but they don't understand. They're people who work 35-40 hours a week, not 70-80. And those people going off about balance are full of it because I don't see them walking out the door at 5.

I’m not an expert but I believe you need to find other ways to deal with the stress of the job and life. Smart phones are great but they are addicting and I find myself on my phone too much at times. Many years ago I went through a bad break up and I was very depressed. I went to a counselor and she advised me to keep myself busy with different activities to keep my mind healthy and active. Since then I workout 3-4 tines a week , play tennis , go for a run and bike riding. Find different things that you enjoy that will effect your life is a good positive way. I think you have to make time outside of work to stay healthy and find a nice balance. Hope that helps.

My best friend threw me a surprise (zoom) baby shower...she put SO much time & effort into coordinating everyone, making it special, coming up with games (and giving out prizes out of her own pocket). I want to send her something as a thanks, but not sure what. Any ideas? Obviously nothing like salon/spa/restaurant gift card due to COVID, which would have been what I’d give her in normal times.

Why is it so hard for me to willingly give money to my broke friend, but when the market dips and I "lose" a few thousand, it doesn't affect me at all. Donating is a monthly expense for me, but there's just something about giving this friend money that doesn't sit well with me.

Tips for interviewing at Amazon? Recruiter contacted me for a position I didn't apply for and set up an interview without any context. They probably got my resume for other positions I applied for I presume. They provided me with a few links for how to interview at Amazon and gave me the linked in of who I would be doing my phone interview with. Any help tips would be appreciated. TIA

I have been working in HR since 2004. I have a bachelor's degree but it is not in HR, it's in a medical/technical field. My entire career in HR has been on the job training and I have worked besides people with HR degrees doing the same things they do. What extra skills do you think your HR degree gives you that you wouldn't have without the degree?

On my current project we are working directly for the ceo and coo. I tend to think that whenever you present something to someone at this level, it needs to look good. Even if it’s an early draft things need to be professional. I don’t want to lose their attention or our credibility by showing bad stuff. My teammates on the other hand think it’s ok to show rough work because we are “co-creating” and they are normal people too.... who do you side with
