Considering leaving for a job in industry (healthcare) for a ~30% jump, not including equity. Up for promotion this year at my firm. Should I jump
My joining is on 20th December in TCS. I have yet not received the onboarding Welcome mail. By when is the onboarding mail usually shared? Can anyone who has joined recently confirm? TIA.
Anyone got confirmation for promotion effec 1st ??Is it really happening or not ?? (Progression from 6B to 7A)
I Got mail that i am referred for one open position at Deloitte by Master Mind Agency , Is that genuine?
So I met up with an old friend of mine and she is not working at the moment. She was a senior level auditor. I thought about asking her to come back to public accounting and decided not to because this job sucked so much. I know it is bad, why did I put myself through and made second year audit manager.
How does one even prioritise work life balance at Deloitte USI?
Juggling a very tough situation at home with loadsss of work.
On top of that, 60-70% colleagues I met are eager like a hungry jackal to snatch any credit for your work. Unplanned meetings, less room to grow and many other factors are leaving me low on energy each day! Finding it unsustainable to carry on any longer. Sad to see the dearth of leaders believing in quality of work and a culture of transparency & well being
What are some of the things you should do prior to officially leaving the company (ex: cash out any real time recognition, phone upgrade, etc etc?)
Does anyone know EY’s parental leave policy. I believe it’s 16 weeks paid. What other kind of leave is there. This is for NY area.
Awaiting to hear back from Amazon and I have no idea what the pay range is. Since it’s an internal transfer, I have no recruiter and the hiring manager had no idea when I asked…what should I do??it’s not posted anywhere either.
How many times did you take the bar before passing? I am really nervous I'm not going to make it, and just want to hear honest feedback

My firm is staying open but I’m a litigator- state and fed courts are closing, most of my depos and appearances have been canceled. My Q1 billing bonus cutoff is the end of the month and I’m SCREWED.
I want to transition from litigation to M&A work but I have no experience in the practice area. How should I go about gaining experience? Most jobs seem to want 1-2 years.
I’m upset that I’m always behind in the ambitious and lofty goals my managing partner imposes on the case. He wants to try every case we get on the first setting but hasn’t had a full staff in the two years I’ve been here. I’m so tired.
I’m currently working at a law firm in San Diego specializing in coastal property rights as a litigation paralegal and legal assistant. We received a minute order from a preliminary injunction hearing. Our client was ordered to post an injunction bond of $2,500. First our client walked to the courthouse to try to pay the bond up front, but they would not accept his money. He tried to call several bond companies, but all said the amount was too small. So how do you post an injunction bond?
Anyone with any insight into the firm culture, work life balance, and pay scale at The Matian Firm in CA? Considering applying but want some insight before hand.
Anyone else just having a rough day? I got bad medical news about a family member over the weekend and my mind has just been so preoccupied. I’m stuck on a case that I absolutely hate in a different practice group than my own, made a couple mistakes today, and feel things starting to snowball a bit.
The work coming in went from 100% transactional to almost 90% litigation. Can someone say bad markets.
I am seeking advice on my first job as a lawyer out of law school. Fortunately, I received offers for an in-house position and with a law firm in their corporate department. The salary for the in-house position is $110k and $170k for the position at the firm. I have 2 questions.
(1) is it detrimental to my legal career if I go in house first; I hear there is no better training than firms. (2) how long can I wait until I respond to my offer from the law firm? Thank you!
Reached new levels of anxiety this morning. Almost puked before coming into work and now have a stomach ache. Happy Monday.
First year family law associate..I only have 1160 billable hours done for the year (I’m including what I expect to bill in December as well). Given I only make $80,000 a year, is that reasonable? Or is that a super low number and should I expect to be fired soon 😂. My target billables is supposed to be 1680 a year. Also my hourly rate is only $109 because all we do is legal aid here.

Thoughts on our profession after ChatGPT?
Pointed out a flaw in the firm client's case/theory, just to ask for some clarification and prep for depo while going over recent discovery. Nothing confrontational and partners had already confirmed it was a question worth asking.
Client called me an 'idiot' and asked me to be removed from case. (I read it as defensiveness). Partners want to see if they can mend the relationship (so I can remain staffed as I know the case best).
What would you do.
What should I do?
My firm has a "nap room" -- literally why? Who would be caught dead in there? I don't understand these "perks" that are so far outside the culture to ever see use
