Anyone have experience working CWX side of Facebook (Meta) ? These are the full time contract roles that potentially turn into permanent roles directly with Facebook (Meta). Had a recruiter reach out and offering me comparable TC and such, just curious if anyone has experience in these roles and success/failure of transitioning into permanent role. Thanks in advance!

Can you share what to prepare for since it’s not a data science type of role so most likely not hard level MySQL questions. Any specific types of queries that I should learn? Thanks!

I disagree, and the number of applicants & people trying to find a way to google shows that. Job titles within google really mean next to nothing unless you have VP in it and that’s one of the best things about this place.
Google is also not an easy place to do AI at, everything is constantly being nitpicked & peer reviewed for ethical usage and can get shut down with relative ease; which may or may not have contributed.
This looks like a case of personal conflict. Yes his voice likely carried weight which is unfortunate in this circumstance (and I side with the two women just fwiw) but I don’t think that means the flat hierarchy is imploding.

It’s neither flat nor imploding.
As a DS this was an interesting read. Academics need to be carefully managed in the workplace. They’re so sensitive, proud, and volatile.
This 💯
What's the flat hierarchy? From what I've heard, Google is a very typical org structure unlike Apple, Facebook, etc
Chief
Well yes. Google is now very typical. However, that’s how it started. Used to be very “flat” tons of company’s copied them to make their structures be more like Google.. but these recent high profile firings at Google is kinda showcasing some nasty underbelly’s that Google doesn’t want coming out
Google does all this weird ass wumbo jumbo with “matrix reporting” where employees have multiple bosses. And then their own interests… just creates such a mess lol
Google doesn't have hierarchy. We have levels and they mean a lot.

Levels are literally hierarchy tho
Google isnt really a top down organisation, so unsurprised about the situation
