Does anyone have experience interviewing with Deloitte Internal Services? I had my final interview a week and a half ago, and received positive feedback throughout. The hiring manager had positive things to say and mentioned they hoped to make a decision by the end of last week. It’s now Friday the week after. The role still shows as “Interviews in Process.” We did discuss potential start dates, but no salary. Any experience with receiving offers for an internal services role? Is this common?

Depends what agency you’re at. Lots of digital agencies have CD’s that still design and execute projects. Big name traditional agencies have more oversight for CD because they have more layers. CD’s should have more hands on work than GCD, ECD in my opinion. But that’s just me.
Appreciate the responses. To be clear, I enjoy doing work on a few briefs here and there. My surprise is the micro managing of creative directors I see now. It feels as tho at many shops a CD title doesn’t mean much as there are so many GCDs and ECDs.
It’s just you
I’m a GCD and I’m constantly doing work.
Yeah most CDs I talk to miss getting their hands dirty and think of themselves more like account/strategy hybrids, spending more time performing in a room and selling, and less time actually making.
I work at a place without a lot of layers, so it’s really a mix depending on projects. Oversee some stuff but also concept and write on others. I don’t mind it
It’s been a long time coming. Before MAC, things took longer and frankly, when you oversaw handfuls of brands, you didn’t have the time to actually execute work. But as creatives became faster at executing the work on the computer and they moved up in rank, the lines blurred between AD/CW, ACD, CD etc.when it came to actually executing the work.
But for me, I’m not scoped to do the work. Just oversee it. If I did the work, I’d blow the budget, billing at my rate.
