Is it just me or is the Google hiring process really slow? I finished my final interview on December 5th…..got team matched on Jan 6th and the recruiter is still waiting for HC decision. He doesn’t respond to emails till I follow up thrice and provides no context on what the hold up is, any thoughts? Is this expected or am I stuck with a not so seasoned recruiter (FWIW he’s relatively new ~8 months in)

Big4 company wants me to tell my current employer (big client) that I am intending to join them and sort of get a soft approval. This is before even giving a written offer. I have no interaction with anyone from this Big4 co, nor has anyone associated with both companies has helped. This is all after interview, offer negotiation, offer approval. Does this happen? Seems like I wasted my time.

People realize the recession is only just starting right? So far we have only had a few rate rises, with many more to come. Stocks are down a little, but only just barely into bear territory. Major companies will be reporting large losses soon, but that hasn't happened yet, and the market will react to that. No major companies have begun large layoffs yet, either, so far we are only seeing a few minor hiring freezes. And of course we haven't seen bankruptcies yet, but they are surely coming.

EY 🐠 Any chance of flexing a SM position to MD? Interested in a role and would be a great fit, but not interested in a lateral.
