is it just me or is the SPAC/IPO growth making everyone in PA miserable? seems like regular engagement teams are being thinned out cuz many people are getting “great learning opportunities” from these SPACs. covid has also accelerated the number of people quitting so every team is becoming understaffed. revenue is booming for PA, but i feel like no one is caring about physical/mental health and i think it’s a huge issue. these mental health awareness emails we get are pointless imo.

I don't really think they have that much impact on firmwide staffing, I think it's more likely firms are trying to get away staffing fewer or even getting fewer hires than expected

if u think differently plz reply too, maybe itll give me some hope in PA

I have picked up 6 SPAC/IPOs in the last month. I want to pull my hair out. It’s not only one-time transaction work but it becomes recurring quarterly work, but not enough to say that I can’t do it in addition to my other 5+ quarterly clients. Don’t worry, of course I’ll pick up another transaction immediately after 5 months of busy season.

I’m so over making these joe schmoes rich. This is why I left HNW taxes before moving to the Corp side of things.

When requesting a raise, has an employer ever asked you for the cost of living? As an example- asking you to list out a future mortgage payment if you purchase a home, the cost of health insurance for your family, etc. Seems intrusive and weird. Raises should based on value, not what a mortgage costs…. but maybe it’s common.

Recovered from Covid and luckily had mild symptoms overall. One symptom that started part way through & is still lingering is severe dry mouth at night. It's bad enough that it interrupts sleep. I stay hydrated, use a special mouth rinse & a humidifier, etc. But the dry mouth is still bad. I wake up every hour with a dry pasty feeling & have trouble swallowing. Dr doesn't have any new ideas. Taking a shot someone on here went through similar (or knows someone who did) and found a solution. TY

Hey Friends! Looking for advice!

My wife is a Chartered Accountant with 7+ years of experience as credit manager, underwriting loans with some leading banks in India. She just got her EAD and is looking for jobs, open to switch profiles as well. Do you think she would fit in for any role here in Seattle, WA? She has been a star performer and promoted twice in the last 3 years. One problem is companies look for US experience which she does not have, we just moved here early this year.

KPMG or EY GDS or ZS Associates?
Almost same offer, same designation. Which one I should go with?
