I'm looking at a job offer I recently received, and it turns out both my current firm and potential new firm offer mega-backdoor Roths (MBRs)
I know that *employee* contribution space to 401ks (the $19.5k annual limit) is shared across employers.
Does anyone know if the *employer* match + after tax 401k/MBR space ($38.5k, the residual of the total $58k IRS limit minus the employee $19.5k) can be "double dipped"?
I.e. take advantage of the MBR both employers, put in close to 30kx2 = 60

So frustrated with the PFS exams. Been taking the certificate path which I thought would be easier as it is one subject at a time but instead each exam is filled with detailed questions on topics that were barely covered if at all. Can anyone comment if the experience PFS assessment is any easier?
Can anyone shed some light on making the switch from Public accounting to Private Equity? I have not too much tax experience in asset management, 1-2 years spread out. I have a lot of operating partnership experience. I know I will have a learning curve. So far, I have not oversold my skillset because I would hate for that to backfire. Any insights would be appreciated.

You provided them with your W-2s?! Unless you’re going to need security clearance, I can’t imagine agreeing to give out my previous W-2s to a new employer. They better be offering you a huge raise and bonus for asking for all of this info.
I've never had a background check company ask for w-2s before. They just ask for permission to run a check and for basic info on previous employers I've had.
Thanks everyone for the advice and input. I’m going to decline the offer and accept a different offer from another company. I was 50/50 on my decision but this tipped me over. Haha
This sounds like red flags
Yes, I was thinking the same but wanted to see if I was the only one thinking this.
