I don’t know but 3 days doesn’t sound nearly enough!
Many years ago when I was out weeks for medical in California, they only deducted the cost of the sub and paid me the rest. We had a great union.
Yes, same thing happened to me 21 years ago when I had my first child.
It’s because that’s what you are actually being paid, your individual days are worth that much.
Just because they conveniently pay you over the course of 12 months does not negate the fact that you actually work 9 months (or whatever it is you work). Ours was by days, not hours. I had friends that took extra time off for maternity leave & for some it was WEEKS of teaching before they were actually paid.
Pretty common for your daily rate to be calculated by total contractual days. What is the confusion here?
Kids hate story problems. But life is a giant story problem. For instance: Susie works 7.5 hours per day for 185 days and earns $xx,xxx. How much does Susie make in an hour? But like most colleagues here, I can’t get past the number 3! Over 30 years, 4 districts, in two states, my sick/personal combo has always been in the 6-9 range.
Yep. We are 10 month employees so our hourly rate is calculated by that not the 12 month pay option that some choose.
THREE DAYS?!
Yea unfortunately that is pretty normal
