Is it normal that as a manager I’m working 10-12 hours daily, even though it’s not busy season. It always seems as if there’s another pressing issue, and we’re perpetually understaffed.

I’m contemplating a move to the southeast, specifically Raleigh or Charlotte, and possibly SC. Is it the same down there where I can expect to work those hours at a large firm?

I like the work I do, but I feel like going private would make it easier to spend time with my family.

Mine’s the hours, which is not normally my issue. I billed 230 for June and July and am already at 145 for August. My ability to focus is getting worse by the day, so I’m working longer to bill the same hours and have had to pull a couple all nighters. I burst into tears this morning when a client changed plans and now wants a major project by end of month, on top of my other deadlines next week... I just want to sleep.

I have been working in special education for 12 years ; 8 years at the high school level and 4 years at the middle school level. I love my kids and what I do but I am seriously burnt out with all of the extra work that we have to do in addition to teaching. I want to be a general education 1st or 2nd grade teacher in hopes of avoiding the mountain of paperwork and the physical labor of assisting large students with daily personal care activities. I would take off work to drink all day and go home drunk, thinking I could play it cool and no one would notice. This has been very hard and very rewarding. According to 2020 990 info, the total annual revenue was $242,732, and total salary expenses was $150,448. On their website, there are four staff listed not including the ED. Their positions are: Director, Managing Director, Senior Editor, and Communications/Engagement Manager.
