Nielseniq Chennai have permanent WFH option?
I was contacted by an Amazon recruiter for a remote Sr. Program Manager role. I took and passed the assessment and was moved to the hiring manager round which was scheduled for tomorrow. I got an email tonight saying that the Director of the group decided that the person must be in Seattle. I am in Austin, which is not an option. I’m disappointed! The recruiter will let me know if any remote roles come up but in the mean time, does anyone have any remote Amazon roles that they’d refer me to?
I just got an email from a recruiter from Google!

He said that the position is in the Bay Area or New York. I haven’t replied the email. I don’t think we can move to those cities, but I don’t want to lose this opportunity. Does anyone know if Google does remote jobs within US?

Feel that. I was in your situation but recently moved back to my city. Got a little better but honestly not going in everyday removes a huge social component of day to day life
It’s not that fun traveling 80% of the time and going into a random office for 10 hours a day either. Consulting ain’t that glamorous

Why cant you meet new people over the weekends?
If you are tied to living with your parents in a city where you have few friends, you will need to make an effort to meet new people. Use your weekends for that instead of being idle and not even trying.
Damn! Ok.. the problem is something else then. Why would you approach a table full of people like that!! Gosh!
There are other ways to meet people. Try friends of friends, dates, join a club or a group fitness class/any class, meetup (the app). Any socially acceptable situation where its ok to approach people and introduce yourself.

Why do people ask questions with obvious answers on this app… go do the things you need to do to improve your life
What seems obvious to you is not obvious to everyone. It is a basic human need to talk and share. Even if it is obvious. Holidays are tough on some people. It would be nice to show some kindness to other people if you are in a good place yourself.
To answer your question.. no, not “normal”
