Is it normal to be nervous while working at a startup? This is my third startup and a month in I’m finding myself a bit anxious. I was laid off after my last company was acquired, and this company is an entirely new role and industry for me that is not Saas. I don’t know our financials exactly but it seems like we are hemorrhaging money in several areas. My managing director has also been over several past startups that have ALL failed or filed bankruptcy. Am I paranoid or justified?

Job base salary presented by HR during screening interview was $130-$145k. I have 3-5 years more experience and more education compared to the posting requirements (BA required, I have a MS). I love the position and what it entails, but was hoping to reach $150-$160 base salary. If offered the position, is this a reasonable ask? This is for big pharma, data analytics in New England.

Getting offer from a Singapore based startup SYFE for QA Role and and same amount offer from Sirionlabs - Both are offering almost same amount .. So CTC not an issue..

But the Startup is giving 3 Lakh worth ESOPs.. and Sirionlabs is saying that every year we give 10% fixed variable..

I want to ask for inflation raise. My EOY raise was 2.5%. Inflation in 2021 was 6.8%. Has anyone had any success in getting more of a raise by simply pointing this out and asking? I’m a 3rd year at a mid-sized litigation firm. Ideally, I would like to see a total 9.3% raise but would be content with 6.8 total. Any advice on how to approach this?

Its heading in the direction of the type of work I want to do than where I'm currently at and taking it would put me at a total of 17 months of product experience. They also claim possible extensions and full time conversion.

I’m looking at about 4 each with different focuses but mainly revolving around data analytics or entry level project analyst/coordinator. A friend of mine said it’s not a good look as it shows the company that you’re desperate. I really disagree, I feel it’s in your best interest to apply as many as you feel qualified for. Any thoughts?
