I've been in-house a few years and I have the legal skills needed to do my job down reasonably well. One thing I know I need work on is understanding skills and knowledge of working within the corporate world and skills needed for ascending to leadership roles. This ranks high on the list of "things I think that would be helpful to my practice that is fully not covered in law school." Does anyone have any books/podcasts/general resources that they found helpful in their career?
If you’ve had terrible interactions with parents (and haven’t we all?), hopefully they weren’t this bad...

Hey 🐠need your help.
I am not able to decide between
1. 2018 Audi A3 with 18k miles at $21k. 2. BMW 330i 2017 with 39k miles and 3rd option is a low price budget friendly VW Jetta 2019 R line at $17k with 15k miles.
Which car would you recommend? Love driving cross country and hence would be munching a lot of miles. Also first time car buyer if that makes any difference.

Hey Pwc folks,

I got another offer from a company.
Can I show this offer to pwc and renegotiate.

MM analysts/associates - what are your hours and WLB life? Thinking about making the jump from FDD but want to make sure it’s the right move for me from that perspective. I’ve been working average of 55-60 hour weeks and find it very manageable and am still able to have a life. Don’t work most weekends but I have some and have definitely had a handful of nights working past midnight.

What are you telling your employees about the payroll tax deferral? I’m hesitant to communicate anything because the information has been vague. After reviewing SHRM's document (linked in comments) it seems best to just opt out and share that with the company. What have you all shared with your teams, if anything, about it?

First time poster here!
After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"
I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?

Fellow HR professionals: anyone ever been in a position where new leadership (VP of HR) came in to an otherwise seasoned team and is clearly not VP material, unprofessional, can’t be trusted, and two of the team members have already left within a yearish of her coming in because they can’t abide by the decisions she makes and how she operates? Basically, as a friend posed the question - “who does HR go and talk to when the head of HR is the problem?”
Any kind hearted HR professional from KPMG Canada could refer me for an entry level talent acquisition role?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone work in HR for Amazon? We have a new distribution center hiring some different HR positions and I’m curious about salary? Are you willing to share? I have bachelors in HR Management, SHRM-Cp, and 5 years exp
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
I've been in PeopleOps (mostly focused on TA Ops) for over 9 years now. I've somehow gotten by without a degree in HR or a certification, but would like to get some more education to continue to advance my career. What are your thoughts on PHR vs SPHR vs SHRM for someone with my years of experience and current role as a manager?
Would love some feedback this afternoon on creative ways to reach more applicants. I’m a recruiter for a small NGO and we’re looking to hire more recent graduates. Handshake, Indeed and LinkedIn have been our friends and I’ve also utilized various forums to attract applicants but want to reach out for some feedback from other recruiters. Thanks for the support in advance 😊

Hi everyone! I received a response on my job application at the company and I've been asked as interview questions over email that as an HR manager in a standalone role for a new country office opening, "what would I like to achieve in the 1st 90 days?"
Any responses you can share either from your experience or thoughts on how best I can answer this?
Note, I'm stuck on this question because the previous question to this asked about my priorities as HRM in the first 30days?"
