Is it okay to apply to other positions in the same company while waiting for a decision for another role?

I got offered a job as an internal wholesaler at Lord Abbett and market support analyst at Blackrock. Blackrock pays more but it’s an assistant role. Lord Abbett says I can move to external wholesaler but it’s a smaller co and less upward mobility if I don’t get that role. Any reason I should take one over the other?

I once had a job where I was ultimately made to be the scapegoat for the many problems at the company. It was an extremely difficult time and I had very little support. Plus it was during the pandemic. I spent the next couple of years looking for another full time position. Thankfully, I found one last month. Soon after I started, I realized I’m still troubled by that toxic experience. I’m now using my newly acquired EAP benefits to address it because I’m afraid of it happening again.

To the folks who moved to US on L1A, can you provide what was your role before (SA/M/SM/D) and how many people reported to you? I understand reportees change with projects, how did you come up with that number.

Is it worth it to accept a long-term sub position when you don't get benefits and you really just want to hold out for a perm position?

Would you accept a title loss to move from T2 to MBB? Really good impression from practice and partners, however would bump from Manager to Senior Consultant level.

Up for promo ~12 months post joining, with initial hit in comp being mitigated with signing bonus. Would be a bump as soon as promo goes through.

However would mean ~1yoe seniority loss (although quite early in career)

What type of industry roles would a consultant “generalist” be suited for? I have a lot of experience in tech (MarTech, Data, System Design… no coding experience though), marketing and customer strategy, analytics, product management, process and op model… but I don’t have any speciality or niche.
