Is it okay to have a recommendation from a previous employer?

Yes general rule of thumb in order of best to worst recommendations is 1) supervisor from current role, 2) supervisor from previous role, 3) coworker from current role, 2) coworker from previous role.

That being said, go with whoever will be the most passionate about advocating for you. A great LOR from colleague is always better than an OK LOR from CEO.

Need to let this out.
I am kinda embarrassed by the fact that my cousin and BIL makes fun of me by calling me "Handsome" since I've never had a partner.
Gosh!!! I hope this changes soon....

Throughout our legal careers, we’re told to reach out to the partner (or mid/senior assoc if available) if we have questions.

I’m a second year L&E lit associate and the partner wants us running point on all our cases. However, he literally never responds to questions I have on case handling/strategy, and is super vague when he does answer questions

Is this normal? If so, aside from just badgering him (which annoys him), what can I do?

I'm feeling a lot of anger towards my manager (now he's acting normal but there were moments where he was condescending/dismissive/mocked my and others work/arrogant/said stuff was "wrong" constantly/belittling the difficulty of tasks etc. in the past project).
Maybe it is "standard chewing out" but it bothered me a lot. So much that I find myself still getting all fired up inside thinking about it...
Idk how to let go of this :/ Thoughts?

I hate my job. I'm being bullied and harassed by my bosses. Thanks a lot for the folks who recommended Mockingbird strollers! Baby hasn’t arrived yet, so I can’t review the product yet. But, I can confidently say their customer service is the best! First, you can actually talk to a real person on your first try. Second, they directly address your problem. Third, I love their solutions, very caring and genuine! Highly recommend.

I work remotely for a small 9-person startup and my boss insists on daily 30+ minute meetings. It’s rare that there is an actual point. Usually, we just go around to everyone to discuss what we’re doing that day. I understand the importance of communication, but this is just wasting time and stressing people out.

Question- is it appropriate for team members to join video calls with political propaganda in view? For example, if a person had a giant Biden/Harris sign or Trump sign and the clients might have different affiliations, should we worry about that or ask team members to tone it down? Just curious in this land of all zoom from home all the time.

I was working at a Hotel one night & I saw a man appearing on two different floors, then in the stairwell. The man was in his 70’s or 80’s. He was wearing nothing but tidy whiteys. When he got to the front desk I asked “is everything alright? Are you okay?” (Assuming he may be senile),He wasn’t senile, he went swimming & wanted to make me uncomfortable and started to flirt while in his sopping wet see through tidy whiteys- and of course I had to clean up the water he tracked through the lobby.

I’ve tried various lotions/creams for itchy skin but haven’t come any closer to getting rid of the constant desire to scratch my legs like a monkey full of fleas 🙈 Any ideas on how to get this under control? 🙏🏼

I can provide these for my current company, but difficult to get for earlier ones, since it's been almost 10 yrs I have left them. I have written to hr of previous companies but no response yet.
I told CTS HR that I have experience letter, relieving letter, salary slips , bank statement, but she says it's not enough. Any thoughts pls?

Do LORs need to be directly tied to your actual “work”? For context, I have super strong relationships from a Senior Manager on a business development initiative that we worked on for over six months and a supervisor on an initiative for 1.5 years. My issue is since most of my projects have been only 2-3 months at max, I didn’t have time to truly develop those relationships from a project standpoint.
