How significantly are exit opps impacted as a SC2 vs M1 if trying to make the move towards Corp Strategy? Debating if it makes sense to stay on and make Manager. Travel burning me out.
I graduated in May 2020 and found myself excepting a Junior Art Director position in Healthcare. I never saw myself in health but with many agencies having hiring freezes I decided to get some experience and save up some money in the meantime. Fast forward one year; I’ve added a new campaign to my website and I’m starting to apply to consumer agencies again. Any tips to help me make the transition? Any place to avoid? Who have you noticed is hiring again? Thanks in advance :)
interviewing with a recruiter (non-PA) for an accountant role. What are some good questions to ask to get a clear and better understanding of what the role will exactly do?
I wanted to post this for those who see and those who need to see: I, along with you, feel dejected by my current position. But I went to an absolutely no name school and could not find a job out of college for 5-6 months. Randomly got an interview request from PwC for a position I never applied for through LinkedIn. All this to say, everyones path is different and yours will work out how it should. Everything happens for a reason, assuming you always put your best foot forward. May we succeed.
I have a salary range in mind for a new role based on online research and target increase from my comp now. But my research shows the data points are for salaries in HCOL areas. Do I need to adjust what I ask for if it’s a remote role and I’m not in HCOL city? Don’t want to overshoot and lose a great opportunity.
Hiring account roles from AE to Director. HCP and DTC offerings (including tv). DM me for more info.
Cleared first round and my on-site is next week. It just came to my notice something about visa sponsorship in JD. It states “This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.” I have H1B but I would need H1b transfer and GC sponsorship. Can anyone help me out here.
Any firms hiring in the healthcare space? Was laid off due to covid-19 a few months ago and would love some help getting back to work. Thank you In advance for the help/suggestions.
Coworker one position below me just quit. I'm expecting to pick of the majority of his work, in addition to mine. How do I use this to my advantage and negotiate increase pay or responsibility?
Anyone able to share what they know about the culture or lifestyle at LEK? Considering a role in their Core Services function, or Data and analytics function, but don't know a thing about the firm
Anybody want to work for KPMG? They are on a hiring frenzy and I am happy to give a referral. Shoot me a DM.
I have a standing offer with Accenture (AFS). Due to coronavirus, the recruiter told me they are pausing staffing of external people like myself while they take care of internal people on the bench. My recruiter said he would touch base monthly during covid, but usually I’m the one to reach out to him. We haven’t spoken since mid March, so should I reach out? I totally understand if they’re still in the same position as before and nothing changed since mid March in terms of hiring.
Hi All, Please let me know if there are any openings in Service Management Office. I'm ITIL V3 and PSM-I Scrum Master certified with 10+ exp.
I see everyone trying to exit to FP&A yet I chose this audit position over FP&A at a national public company right out of school (pay would’ve been 30% higher too back then)... did I screw up?
Considering a role with Deloitte as a Con/Senior Con Engagement Financial Advisor anyone with insight into the pay range? Trying not to end up being underpaid again and being in a fair range.
I romanticized being a consultant while working in industry. Then I got a consulting job, a couple promos, and now the idea of consulting just makes me roll my eyes. I love the pay and I don’t mind working hard, w/ long hours, but the “business of consulting” is exhausting (e.g. maintaining utilization, selling engagements, 6k iterations of a deck, etc). Great company, great co-workers, and interesting engagements.... I can’t be the only one feeling this way. Time to exit or is this a phase?
Where do people exit to make good money AND have fun? No politics, no bureaucracy, no sales for the sake of sales. I feel like the market is so hot right now that exit opps are almost limitless, but even FAANG does not seem particularly exciting 😕
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Recently laid off from KPMG audit after 3 years. I’m on an H1B so odds are tough. If anyone could help me with a referral to a transaction services/restructuring role at another services firm or middle market bank, would be grateful. I know it’s a long shot but thought it’s worth posting.
I read on Management Consulted that OW don't specifically recruit post-MBA. How accurate is that?
If you get a full time offer from the firm where you interned during your summer after your first year of MBA, will the offer pay for your second year of tuition?
Looking for input from indy/RIA, wirehouse, B/D, Bank, Insurance folks all in one spot. If you have $50M wrapped at 1% (let’s just assume for this purpose)... what does that equate to for total comp?
Been in MBB for about six month, I can’t seem to get use to the 65-70 hr work weeks 😣 even an easy day leaves me exhausted. Anyone else feel this way?
After flying coast to coast for a year, I got a mental breakdown yesterday and can't stop crying in my hotel room last night, I would like to get a new job with higher pay but visa limits my choices
As I sit here and lesson plan on my day off, I'm wondering how important planning is- especially for us veteran teachers. I mean, I sometimes spend hours on one and then throw it out or change it anyway.
For you that tip Ubers and expense it afterwards, how do you keep track? Always update a spreadsheet afterwards?
Friend wants to join consulting for the pay. I don’t believe she has the aptitude or energy for it. We worked together in a much slower industry, and even there she complained of being overworked. I’ve sent her resources to polish up her resume and links for roles but she’s insisting on texting/long phone calls asking silly questions. Today she wants a resume review over zoom! She comes without having done her homework. How do I tell her I’ve given as much as I can? How do I decline referring?
imagine learning about the consulting life as an undergrad, going through the brutal recruiting process, landing “the dream job” where you get to travel, explore, and develop yourself. Then suddenly...Corona hits. And your first day is you in bed waving hello to the HR rep on a zoom meeting in your Superman tidy widys
Should I stop depositing into my 401k?
How do you manage breakfast when they eat it in class? I feel like my classroom is such a mess before it is even 9 a.m.
Does loyalty to a particular firm matter or should one keep switching every 2-3 years to maximize ctc? Will ctc increase by the same amount if you stay long term in a firm? From a big 4 perspective, will loyalty and number of years at the firm matter to make partner?
Accenture HR: When a prospective employer runs a background check, does HR tell them reason for leaving (quit, fired, etc.) or just dates of employment? Was fired in September and wondering if I am required to tell them (upon asking why there’s a gap) if I was fired or just that I decided to leave.
How has your WFH experience during the pandemic impacted (or not) your sense of loyalty / willingness to sacrifice for: - your team - your client - your firm
Need advice. My sons have kids ATV things. More hard core than a power wheels but not true ATV (they go 8 mph I think). My kids were riding in our culdesac with husband watching. Husband and oldest came inside for a few minutes and in that time, neighbors tiny 4yo jumped on his and crashed on our driveway. Broke her arm. 😩 We would never have allowed her to ride and her parents NEVER supervise when she’s outside. Are we dicks for not offering to cover some/all of medical bills? I don’t feel
Just letting everyone know that the covid 19 trend is the "covid 20"...just like in freshman year in college...if you didnt put on 20 pounds...good for you but you're not in the cool group. Please refrain from shaming those that put on a few pounds here and there.
So I have a rememdial algebra 1 class with 8 kids. I also have 1 hr and 20 mins with them. These kids have done the same subject 1-2 times. Any ideas, resources, or lessons that dont make the class feel repetitive to a prior year?
