Do it! It’s a professional networking site so take the time to see who you’ll be meeting with. As a recruiter one of the most common reasons a hiring manager will pass on someone is due to the candidate not doing their research. I wouldn’t suggest mentioning every bit of detail on who you’re meeting with (may be perceived as creepy) but knowing basics like how long they’ve worked there and if they’ve been promoted could help you decide if it’s a place you’d like to work (is everyone new? Are people rewarded / promoted? What level of talent is involved in the process?). Good luck!
Thank you!
I’ve used people’s work histories as conversation starters and it’s been positive every time.
I always look. You should know who you’re walking into a meeting with. I also make sure they know that I looked, usually asking something about their past.
The info is there. Use it
It's not only okay but what you should do. Your profile has been viewed as well. It's part of the point of having one.
It would be weird and not smart if you didn't.
It’s fine
I totally think it’s fine and shows you’re doing your research, but even if you feel a little weird about it, you can always turn your search setting to private mode.
They’re gonna look at yours...
100% do it. You could learn something that will help...plus, get a feel for the work they’re doing at the agency. I also Google and LinkedIn stalk other creatives at the agency where I’m interviewing. It’s smart!
Go ahead, it’s public information. I wouldn’t have any issue with an interviewee looking. It’s your homework
