Don't wear polos to the office, what are you an assistant high school track coach?

Why would you do that? Wear a plain polo from Uniqlo or whatever.

EY 2, jus curious, where is a polo shirt appropriate to you? I always understood polo shirt n khakis to be the essential default men's casual conservative office dress code. but i would never wear one anywhere else.

like

Polos are totally acceptable and almost 75% of men in the office now wear them with our new dress code

Just wondering! I've got a bunch of golf polos from previous jobs, and was hoping I wouldn't have to buy new ones, but figured i would

OP, I hope your just trolling everyone and not actually this thick.

Said my self good morning today, as I got to know that partner needs to invest at biggest, I totally understand by the naming convention that yes typically a partner need to pay and have seen example at huge attorney and practice firms partners investing, but at big 4 seriously? Like how huge the amount is and what is meant by the term salaried partner? Do they invest as well? Please enlighten me here, curious to know have been at pwc for a year and will now shift to another big4.

How do you get past the “guilt” of leaving a company full of people who you like and respect? Currently on a project where I really cannot be replaced this last minute & have the project end successfully. My managers have also repeatedly checked in on me and made it very clear that they want to keep me / are doing everything they can to help me grow at the company. Still, I am not passionate about the work at ALL and want to leave. Just can’t make myself start looking because I feel so guilty.

Is it normal for teams to lose it on each other on a regular basis? I’m fairly new to the B4 and never experienced it at former firms. It starts at the top and it’s starting to take a toll on my performance. Not sure if I need to suck it up and deal with it or start thinking about changing teams. TIA

Anyone else tire of the “plant mom” and “dog dad” me too conversation? It seems to be more frequent. For example, company says, “Parents, please share pictures of working from home with your kids during Covid” for a diversity and inclusion project. Undoubtedly someone responds, “what about my plant babies? 🤣”. I don’t want sympathy but I find it childish. Just give us the courtesy of understanding that plants and pets are not the same. Stop “me too’ing”

Any tips for navigating client office politics? I’m working on a process improvement project involving multiple teams and one team feels threatened that my client team is taking work from them (and that their jobs will be in jeopardy as a consequence), and they are slowing down progress which prevents me from doing my job. Client execs are aware but have their hands tied. What’s the best way around this?

Is it just me, or is the big 4 sales culture low energy? I get the RFP process is painful, having done it in other industries myself, but the way I've seen most people sell in these firms seems mediocre for the amount of support that gets thrown at these opportunities. Maybe it's the ex-finance consultant in me, but the approaches I've seen in my 5 year tenure so far have me thinking this isn't catering to my strengths and won't be the best move to stick it out to SM/PPMD.

A colleague shared with me the presentation they have prepared for their promotion case. I worked with them on multiple projects during the year and I can clearly see that some of the claims on the deck are wild exaggeration or lies. For example, managed changes in scope for Project X including contract changes. Plot twist: there never was a change of scope for Project X and the contract is exactly the same. How can people be so dishonest? How far can you go before truth catching up?

How do you handle attraction in the work place. During my summer internship I was really attracted to this girl I shared a office with. During one of the days she wore a really short skirt and I got a bit aroused. Since my housing was really close, during lunch I went home and fixed the issue.
