I am currently a Health Admin Fellow at a leading healthcare system. I am in a phase during my fellowship where I will have to start searching for a role within the system in the next 3 months.

I was wondering what kind of role would be best step forward for an admin fellow.

I was offered a project coordinator role but feel I should not accept the same without looking at other options. I aim to seek out a project manager role and was wondering if this would be the wrong step forward.

Over the years I have attempted the online coding assessment but haven’t successfully completed the assessment with a 100%. Thoughts on sending out assignments over the weekend? I work a lot on weekends, but I don’t expect associates too. But, because I work on weekends, I often will send out assignments by email with a clear indication in subject line and body that it does not need to be completed or worked on over the weekend. A friend recently mentioned this isn’t the best since seeing the assignment may create unnecessary stress and anxiety. So, what say you? Am I terrible partner?

I know there are a ton of posts on billable hours requirements at many firms but do any other mid/senior level associates spend a TON of time on non-billables - group/dept./firm meetings; training; events; business development (writing articles, doing webinars, networking; outside association events); etc.? I feel like the number of hours spent on this is lost in the discussion sometimes and I know I spend an additional 300-400 hours on this per year. Anyone else?

I’m a trainee and made a mistake today. I was wfh, feeling sick and didn’t let people of my team I had capacity. Nobody reached out either, although they usually do even when I don’t communicate about my capacity. I logged out early 6:10, thinking nobody would need. Obviously an associate sent me a question 5 min later, which I didn’t see. The senior associate sent an a pretty aggressive email requesting to discuss tomorrow morning. Im feeling so stupid and putting my whole career into question

Is there a way to create keyword flags/labels for Outlook emails? I’m in a general M&A corporate practice and would love to sort emails by e.g.,“Purchase Agreement”, “Escrow Agreement” etc…This would help me with the closing checklist process. I’ve only seen Outlook flag colors to sort emails but I’d rather use key words based on the large email volume.

Accepted an insanely good offer at a v20 but will need to leave my bottom v100 where I’ve become comfortable and well known by over 20 partners. Partnership was on the table at the v100 but I just could not turn down the v20 offer. How do I break this to the v100?

For people at firms with these titles, what are the differences in expectations for a “senior” or “managing” associate versus a more junior associate? For context, my firm gives 6 + years this title.

Have any of you asked for more than a week of vacation? My parents want to take the whole family to Europe for 2 weeks. My gparents are from a small, southern town, and except my my gpas tour of Vietnam, have never left the country. I really want to experience this trip with them before they pass.
