Is it possible to be a recruiter for two different companies, if you’re recruiting for two different careers? For example, you’re a technical recruiter for one recruiter and a corporate recruiter for another.

It depends on whether there’s a company policy or you signed a non-compete and what the content of it is. Some companies would be ok with it as long as you’re not doing it on their time, but others may see it as a conflict of interest.

You could totally do this as a freelancer. As a w-2 employee it would have to be done on the downlow and sounds stressful and grounds for firing if anyone found out.

Yes, I have a friend who does it. They use two separate LinkedIn accounts. They abbreviate their name or use a preferred name on one, so it’s not discoverable.


🤦🏽 so conning both employers by only working half the time and half the effort. Yeah you can however if you get found out you will be sacked….

I’ve had contract recruiters that had other clients. It takes some transparency and trust, especially if we are providing sourcing tools like LIR or Indeed etc.

I can’t say it always worked out well though, it’s a hard thing to do.

My partner is an Occupational Therapist and she was laid off in March when NYC closed schools and therefore her clinic. Initially she claimed unemployment but they moved to tele-therapy so she’s been earning an hourly rate. However she’s struggling as they are consistently not been paying her the correct amount and with no explanation. She had an employment contract to end of Aug with a 3 month notice period that they did not give to her. Could she possibly force them to pay out her contract?
