What do you do in Accenture’s CDP program?
I have a year of experience out of college in engineering and consulting. I recently saw a business planning, Apple Music role at Apple that I feel like I’m a good fit for and was wondering if anyone would be willing to refer me. I’m passionate about music and am a producer during my free time and feels like this role sits at the intersection between music, tech, and strategy. If someone would like to chat a bit more about it, would love to reach out!

I’m a pretty cut 43 YO mother of 4. I run 3 miles 3x per week and lift heavy for 30 mins 3x per week. I don’t limit my food intake very much. I would say my genetics are a huge reason I have abs.
Damn good for you. The only way I get abs is by severe cutting (which for me turns to ED-like eating behavior which I’d rather avoid). I think I’m very toned but I’m just bulkier than I’d like to be.
Thanks everyone for the words of wisdom and encouragement. I am trying to accept that maybe this weight is the new normal but I just worry once I stop counting calories, I’ll slip even higher and then I’ll be even heavier so I’m trying to proactively get around that by getting down lower. But maybe that’s just not sustainable for my body at this age…ugh just another thing to worry about 😩
For sure. A lot of body types are genetic. I’m female and my mom, mom’s mom, and mom’s sister are and have always been quite skinny. It’s the same for me.
Ok I’m other end of spectrum. A bigger girl. But just lost my personal covid 15 using Noom. Eat clean, weigh self daily, carefully monitor food, lots water , intermittent fasting
I’ve almost. NEver been able to lose weight …but fortunately don’t gain terribly easy either. Until covid of course.

Why do you feel you need to lose weight? It sounds like you’re active and eating well, which are the main components of health.
Just to add to this point, keep in mind that you can not wear the same size of cloth you have been wearing since you were 13 . Like you asked genetic plays a big role as we get older . No one but you knows the size of cloth you’re wearing. The main thing is eating healthy and exercising. You can still loose weight , but you might get to that old weight and that cloth might still not fit , just because of the natural changes in our body.
Those type of extreme things weight loss does not last. Genetic always come to play.
Same way with some girls being gifted big booties genetically

You’d be labeled as a mesomorph.

I was just sharing an example of something about mesomorphs. I’m not claiming to be an expert. But there’s also a way to say something about someone’s information or a way to share your own without being a dick. That was my point.
I also just measured myself and my measurements have been going down or staying the same so despite the weight gain, it’s potentially lean body mass gains. Still, I just want the weight number to go down 😭
Get off the scale
Yup. Sounds like you’re lucky. I can’t gain muscle or fat up to a certain point, or lose fat up to a certain point. My body just won’t do it. It’s really hard for me to not think about supplementing with something serious
Yes, my best friend is this way. He just gains muscle and strength much more easily than me even though we have similar workout intensity and I'm much more diligent with my diet.
And this has been the case since we were kids.
Is he able to lose weight though? I want to lose weight which means losing muscle but I can’t seem to.
Get a SECA scan - it will tell you your breakdown of muscle mass versus lbs of body fat. Tracking how much body fat you are losing versus muscle mass you are building is a better indicator of overall health. Good luck!
I go to a functional medicine doctor that has one — but I think most “health places” or training facilities have the machine. FitTrack is an at home version that shares similar info - but I find SECA to be more accurate.
Yes, I am and I've finally found a doctor who doesn't judge me by my weight on the scale only and dismissing me. It's harder being a female and gaining muscles crazy fast and unintentionally bulking. Eating a caloric deficit has helped a little. Also, doing lots of cardio on weightlifting days somewhat counteracts it.
Just ignore the Negative Nancy's and embrace yourself 😄
I dated a dude who barely worked out but still had abs, so yes, it’s possible.
