Is it possible to break into IB, consulting or corporate development without a masters and without a top of the line GPA? I know I can handle the work it’s just the matter of receiving the opportunity to do so

Pretty much this, and also network network network. Despite what people say on here, it's really not that bad and you'll be able to find a good role eventually

Find an analyst role at a consulting company, T4 offers one and isn’t asking for much experience. With your EXP in ops you’d be a good fit. Transition your experience and show on your resume how you analyzed data to provide results to your clients. That way you can move up to more client facing roles you are looking for.

I networked my ass off to get my shot in high finance. To get started just join your local CFA society. Take the level 1 at least once and goto as many luncheons as possible. Any even they have you make it and network.

CFA is def a shortcut in.

Of course, it is. Could be challenging and difficult. But if you are just asking if it is possible, then yes.

I have an idea for a startup in the software space. After sketching out a rough idea/plan, I have two areas I'm hoping this group can provide input on/share experiences -

1) Finding a developer that can test out feasibility/effort - ideally would also be a partner. I don't have a technical background.
2) Funding - I don't have enough funds to do this with my money. Assuming I'm able to find a developer and create a rough proof of concept, how do I go about pitching/finding funding?

I am sooo close to obtaining my degree in Business (next year) . I’ve been applying for jobs for the past six month and I am getting a lot of rejections. Most of them are in accounting because that is where I have most of my skills. I’m always commended on my work history and I know I can easily complete the responsibilities in the job descriptions. Is it best to just wait until I graduate?

I saw another post in this bowl about the “perfect finance candidate” & someone said that the perfect candidate is likely a friend-of-a-friend or family member of a manager. How much nepotism is there really in finance? I’m sure soon I’ll have enough experience and see it for myself, but I just felt curious about how much of an issue this has been for other people here.
