Is it possible to get a job at a FAANG company without a CS degree? I have limited knowledge of operation systems, networking, etc. but I'm skilled at LeetCode.

I am a PIO at a state agency and I’ve been thinking about applying to the FEMA reservist. Does anyone have experience with doing this while also being employed for a state agency? Is that a normal route to take or is there another way to gain more experience with disaster/crisis communications?

All AMs on my account are supposed to get planning training, our CS VP was replaced with a VP of Planning but they kept the CS SVP. They said this is part of an “industry trend”. Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve been on the CS side for a while and don’t know the first thing about planning… feeling a bit unnerving about the switch but also open to it if it will benefit my career. Thoughts?

Earlier this month I talked with my boss and her boss about me pivoting into Strategy. They were both excited (said it made sense) and supportive. We had a new GSD join our team this month as well, so they announced my pivot to the broader team. But since then, nothing has happened. I was even sent on a production shoot, that I wasn’t suppose to go to, so my Acct Mgmt tasks are growing and no tasks for Strat. Any advice on how to move things along? Thanks in advance!

does senior data analyst necessarily make less than DS? I always want to be a DS, but as I research more I realize DS might also wear the hat of business analyst. The constant interaction in workshops and presentation to other stakeholders are not what I most comfortable in doing. So that makes me wonder, what if I should stay in the DA path to be a senior... But on the other hand, I'm very keen on learning the ML part... still need to sharpen my programming skills tho.

Currently 21 years old, at a fintech, ~2 YOE (I did some ops work while in college), current base salary is $77K (I commute into the office 3+ days a week in NYC) with other benefits like fully paid benefits, a 4% 401K match, got an RSU grant, unlimited PTO, wifi / gym stipends and a $6K sign on bonus. All the social media influencers promise that the tech industry is possible without a degree in Computer Science, but what percentage of you have actually gotten in without one?

Recently accepted a great offer from one of those startup-within-a-large-company outfits. The startup farms out the hiring stuff to the larger company. In the new hire paperwork, I noticed it said the comp was based on my being in a Tier 1 CoL city. Prior to accepting I'd mentioned to the startup I was looking to move, and they said it shouldn't be an issue. Will they adjust my comp down if I move to a Tier 2 city? Startup is fully distributed and remote.

I got asked to do 2 interviews for associate program manager role - 1 recruiter screen and they immediately scheduled for another one with someone from the business. Is this normal to already have another call with someone from the business before you even had a chance to chat with the recruiter ? This is for amazon btw

I lied on my resume and I got an offer anyway. They never checked my references, but the HR Manager says they know someone at my last job. The lie is that I didn't actually have the level of position I said I did. They're going to be seeing the person they know soon and will talk about me then, but they are hiring me on faith in the meantime. What the hell do I do?
