@ McKinsey & Company - if you give up something completely your body goes into starvation mode...
@ Senior Associate - yes you can loose weight with Indian diet... change the proportion of carbs... i.e. if you are eating 3 rotis normally switch to 2 and increase vegetable intake... lower sodium intake use moderate quantity of ghee to make vegetables instead of oil... don’t have plain rice or so called biryani available in restaurants as it has very low quantity of vegetables... vegetables are high in fiber so it will keep you full.. include healthy fats i.e dry fruits for snacking... if you eat meat go for grilled options as meals... (tandoor starters)
Yes, eat less
Avoid sweets/ fatty food
Use MyFitnessPal to track calories
If you eat lhealthy and if it is less than what you burn in the day you will lose weight.
No rice , only roti
So losing weight on Indian food while at home is very much possible. On the other hand, if you are traveling and have to eat at restaurants, I think it’s hard to find healthy choices in Indian restaurants. The curries are too full of cream and the sides are full of carbs (rice/maida).
